My Buell has hazards and self cancelling turn signals. When did they do away with that?????

a) Larger diameter front forks (S&R),
b) Race replica bodywork (R),
c) Factory welded mounting points for frame sliders (S&R).
d) Pre drilled and tapped mouting points on the swing arm for paddock stand spools - Could also double for slider mounts.

1. A rear cylinder cooling fan that won't cook your right leg.

2. Lose the cheese grater on the "S" and replace it with a more functional seat - ala "R"-style seat (passenger seat cover and under-seat storage space).

3. World peace. Or a fuel gauge.

I don't think they'll do anything race-oriented, e.g. bodywork, frame sliders, etc. It goes against their whole marketing strategy and honestly they probably shouldn't try to compete in the racer-rep category. (still wish I could buy one.) Really, XBs nicely fill a niche between racer-rep/sports and sports-touring bikes. I think we'll see an XBST of sorts, more fuel capacity, hard bags, taller windshield, thicker seat, more vibration damping for the handlebars, rubber-coated footpegs.

I'm guessing a replacement for the Blast.

It will be called an XB5S. Probably a 492cc motor in an XB frame with XBS bodywork. Available in standard height and a low version.

That would make sense, an XB-Blast. Good call.
Maybe a flat-tracker version as well, narrow tank, wide handlebars, higher footpegs, kickstarter, dirt tires,....

A six speed for a cruising gear, A kick starter, Classic looking gage faces (Like the S3T), Self canceling turn signals but only if they have absolutely NO effect otherwise, Higher RPM's but I'll ALWAYS say that, Adjustable rear ride height, something slightly more like a ZG double bubble in the stock orange color, lighter front brake rotor.

Not bad Glitch... I think you should de-rake it a little though. And make it Forest green.

Torqer and I were talking about what you'd have to do to make a tourer out of an XB.
One thing I wanted was to use as many XB existing parts as possible.
Torqer said not to do anything except change the rear to accept a better seat for two.
I'm guessing to do this all that would have to change would be the subframe and rear body work.
That's the rear end of an S3T, I did have to "warp" it a little to get it to fit "just right."
I think this looks real do-able.

I would bring the upper line of the rear section down as well as the bags to have more room for cushion on the seat at the same height.

Here's a what if.

What if they got rid of the hole for the air inlet in the left side of the frame, how much more fuel would it hold?

Then relocate the intake snorkles to the front of the fairing like the race bikes have, run some smaller snorkles between the fairing mount and the top of the airbox cover and you could add fuel and keep the airbox properly fed.

My bets:
More loud kinda ugly colors.
A small run of race-ready bikes, maybe not even street-legal?

My hope:
A sport-touring model.

Just enough to make it so you push 9 miles to the gas station instead of 10

Ask that question again in less than 30 days and the rumors will begin to flow more concretely.

But if you're looking to buy a new bike you should just go ahead and get one now. If you're afraid of price adjustments then ask the dealership if they'll give you a 90-day local price guarantee.

Just some thoughts and hunches....

Last year the new models were released on Monday, July 21. Two days after I bought my 2003.

I'm no where near buying a bike, but I have an intense interest in them and follow Buells very closely. It's insane how much I scour this web-site, yet I've never ridden a Buell.

July 21st? Well just a little over a month away!

heheheh, good one JQ. LOL Seems like it would be a good 0.2 gallon or so to me. That'd be worth ten miles.

Let's just say I took a picture (The picture is on this website) of something interesting in the pits Road America, and later I realized I saw something else but never really saw it it until recently.

I think it will add more that 0.2 gallons.

Interesting insight JQ! I wonder if that was for the reason you mention or for rigidity.
