I just registered the wife and I.Bubba Blackwell,Battletrax,To what I understand a Dyno shootout,4 planned meals,a beautiful resort if you choose to stay there.I think its worth the cash just seeing all the Badwebbers here. You need to be preregistered by May 7th.Come on lets make this one a good one.Besides if it turns out well maybe we can make this a annual event.See ya all there.

Any feedback on how many out of towners are registered yet? I know a lot (or several at least) of the locals are just planning on showing up at various venues but not planning to partake of the provided food and beverages. The locals that I know of who have registered are also planning on attending the RoadAmerica event, which seems to be the main deal maker/breaker in this year's already annual but skipped a year event.
For me, I've got a bicycle thing to do that Saturday, and I work during the week so will only have the evenings open. A few years ago at LakeLawn was great, so it has the potential to be great again.
Plus, with the H-D corp culture so ingrained with correct terminology and all, they've named it a "Coming Home" instead of a "Home Coming" event. Minor difference, but it was apparently important to someone for the terminological change to be made. There is an implied difference in the order of the words, but I'm probably just reading too much into it and have probably spent too much time in writing classes in school so that may be just my reading into it too much. (Too much redundancy as well, but there seems to already be a redundant thread on this topic already. ) ; )

Maybe showing up for a day but I am not gonna register. $95 is insane. Remember Homecoming 2001 $45

Speaking of BRAG events, sorta.

What do you guys think BRAG should be? What sort of events and what sort of magazine info would make you renew your membership? Would some sort of web site be important and if so what would you want on a members only site?

Saturday Night at Lake Lawn??? Hmmm...must be a private event they didn't see fit to post on the Buell Website. By invitation only, eh?

Just kidding of course, but a Saturday evening event would be nice for the locals and those that don't have a tremendously long commute home on Sunday.

Member's Only Sites only and mainly serve to exclude non-members (ie: the HOG site). IMHO.

For a magazine format you need look no further than the former magazine put out by Reg. And it should be monthly with the articles available on the web. The articles could to some extent be "for subscribers only", with a few of them available to potential owners and potential enthusiasts.

Events can be gatherings, but should be centered around time frames when locals who otherwise have to work can participate. This will give the visitors some locals to interact with and get tips and routes from.

As I understand it the original Buell company web site was well received, but alas went poof before my awareness of Buell. I'm just a newbie.

And the Technical Bulletins should be available directly from the corporate web site. I say this mainly due to the dearth of support from the dealership network, with scattered exceptions.

And bring back the history postings of past models. Deleting them only adds to speculation that the corporation would just as soon wish they'd never existed. And for someone looking for info on past models, especially those looking to "restore" an older model, it would be nice to have what an original configuration of a model looked like in it's original format. I'm not asking for anything secretive, but it should not be required for me to look elsewhere if I simply want some history of the brand. Even as few as three years ago there was much more technical info available on the company web site.

It should be Harley-Davidson and Buell, not Harley-Davidson (and Buell).

Just an opinion from a currently expired member.

I know I'm going! Already got my confirmation.
I still think 75.00 is a pretty good deal if you are going to be at all the stuff going on.
I, for one, would like to see this become an annual event again. Of course to justify that, we need a good turnout this year.

In regards to what I think BRAG should be?
All in all I think that BRAG is doing a pretty good job on a national level. They have had rallys/rides in different parts of the country for riders that don't want/can't come to WI every year and for those of us that want to travel to other parts of the country to try out new places and faces. I just wish I could attend more of them. I'm really happy they brought back the Homecoming, whatever they choose to call it. This should be a "can't miss" event for Buellers in the midwest.
I have always had a great time at the past Homecoming events and have no doubt this will be another one that will bring fond memories in the future.
Can BRAG make everyone happy all at once? nope, that would be impossible.
Do I think they are doing a good job? Yes.
Can it get better? Of course, everything can be improved.
One key way to make it better is for all of us to get involved. Go to the events, whether it be this one or one in your neck of the woods. Check it out and then decide if it was worth it or not.
For me it's never been what events/rides/routes/location aspects of the rally but about the other riders I meet there. I think it will probably always be that way for me. Without Buell/BRAG I wouldn't have ever met the many of you that I have and now consider friends. I've always been good at entertaining myself, no matter where I'm at or what I'm doing.

So, take a chance! Sign up today, come to the "Bringing it Home" rally. It's up to us to make it fun and worthwhile.

IMHO YMMV

The new Appleton BRAG club is going to ride to Road America on Sat and Sun for the races. Anyone in this area is welcome to ride over with us one or both days. We are leaving Appleton from the dealership at 8am.

Ride to the edge!

$75 seems VERY reasonable to be part of this. Looking for riders to Road America on Sat.
Anyone interested?

Agree that $75 plus room and board is reasonable for the amount of time if you are on vacation.

I only wish that there was an ala carte fee schedule for the locals that would like to attend but can't get the time off work.

Without doing so, it tends to force the locals into some form of gate crasher and we (ok, I speak for myself only) would like to legitimately participate in a dinner or an event without feeling like a low life freeloader.

I'm registered. I've owned my M2 for three years now and this will be the first BRAG event I've attended.

I don't think $75 is unreasonable. It would have been nice to be able to opt out of the Road America thing though. I'm not all that into racing and I wouldn't have minded being able to opt out of that and saving some money. I've already paid my $75 so I'll just have to be dragged up to Road America, kicking and screaming the whole way. I'm just kidding. It'll be fun! I will occasionaly go up to Brainerd for the AMA races.

Talking about $75, I know it's easy to spend almost that much after buying a ticket, something to eat and drink, etc. in just a single day at the races. I hope they're going to have food and beverages at the "hospitality tent" and not just a pin or patch. I don't have anything against pins and patches, but it'd be nice to have a sandwich and a Coke to wash it down with.

O.K.,now, look, I mean, I'm out of work, and money's tight. I'm going to go to Newfoundland this summer. There's no way I can justify a trip to Wisconsin. Though I'd really enjoy seeing everybody again. How much is the resort charging? It doesn't matter, I can't afford it. But if I sleep in a rest area, I'd save money that a motel would cost; 75 bucks, but that only gets me into Road America for Saturday. I'd have to buy another ticket for Sunday's races. I'd love to see Miguel put a serious -whipping on Mladin. But if I go, I can tell Erik that I want an S4-T again, and I can get Dyna to pay up on that Pepsi he owes me. Yeah, but how do I talk my wife into seeing it my way? Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket.
You guys (and ladies) have me thinking...
