We were very lucky here in Grifton, however, our friends in Farmville and Snow Hill were not so fortunate. We shut down our festival yesterday at 4:00 p.m. due to the possibility of tornadoes coming our way. Once all the warnings were lifted, we carried on with our Street Dance which we had moved inside! Glad you made it through ok Kristi. I had no damage personally. I know a family died up in North Raleigh. That is very sad.   Jerry_haughton Posted on Monday, April 18, 2011 - 09:12 pm:        Nance, we were without "real" power and running off the generator for most of the day Saturday. As I always do, I tracked this storm on the radar, and it "broke up" some coming over the top of the Appalachians, only to regroup down on the Piedmont and get downright nasty. I remember showing Denise the radar loop as this thing marched towards the coastline and commenting on what a monster it had again become. We had big rain and wind (the house was really doing some talking for several hours), but other then having to drag out the generator, no real issues. They are doing great from what I can gather (currently in Afghanistan), mom and babies are currently resting in the hospital. Made at work on one of the many super-groovy CNC plasma cutting machines. I'm trying to get some Buell stuff in their library, but it's hard finding dxf files of Buell stuff...
