'08 1125r w/ 1700 miles - bought it w/600 miles on it in May.

Bike's in the shop because the rear turn signals have never worked and lately the Clutch started leaking at the slave cylinder (the infamous "disappearing fluid" trick!)

Shop says bike is still under warranty. Should these issues be covered?

yes they should be as all Buells had a 2 yr warranty on them when new, so hopefully yours is still covered.

The shop said the bike is still under warranty, but my question is are these two issues covered or is there some way they could claim that they're not? I honestly don't feel like I should pay several hundred dollars for a blown gasket after a mere 1700 miles.

It is covered under the standard 2 year warranty. The only way you would be stuck with the bill is if it was your fault that the issue occurred (abuse, damage, negligence, modifications, etc)

Thanks, Froggy. No mods, no abuse, no damage, no negligence (really - is there some kind of preventative maintenance that can keep a slave cylinder gasket from blowing out?) Let's hope they don't try to pull a fast one.

I have yet to hear of a dealer telling someone an item is covered, then expecting the customer to pay for it.

Usually it's a case of "nope, that's not covered" right off the bat.

If they've told you you're under warranty, stop worrying.

The only PM you can do to prevent the clutch leak is to replace the piston and seals beforehand, but if its under warranty just let them do the fix for you.
