Oooops!!!!!! 70mph on the motorway grabbed front brake way too hard, you know the story. Me and bike are fine. Well I'm fine and the bike is cosmetic thankfully. Gives me a chance to alter paintjob which I wanted to anyway, so adding a blue flake to the arctic white, well it will be pearl, details!!! After arguing with insurance company for a week (they wanted to write off and give me just over 4k, I asked if I should bend over now or later) and rescuing the bike back from Edinburgh HD where it was sat in the rain for days on end...grrrrrrrrrrrrrr I got paid out and started the shopping list.

EB racing have been fantastic and the majority of the parts are enroute from the elves at a third of the price of HD not too mention some of their new decals. However I have wrecked my clutch cover not the actual casing just the wee plastic cover on the front, and can not find one anywhere. Any idea's???

hmmmm I would think it is the larger of the two. It is more puck shaped. You got me panicking with the old "recall" word!!!

I wish people would stop using that word, because 9 out of 10 times it isn't one.

If your bike is an 09 or 2010, it has the newer style puck, which is metal, not plastic.

2008 models that have not had the cover replaced have the old style cover with a plastic puck.

Hey guys sorry fell off the world for the weeked, out racing mopeds with other like minded lunatics : D

I'm fine gear did its job fantastically, something to be said for zip together togs, they are in tatters now helmet was in three bits but my head was fighting with the underside of a BMW so that figures. I sustained a small bruise on my hip, big chip on my shoulder, and heartbreak cause of my poor bike right shoulder was wrenched but thats ok now as well.

I actually managed to find the necessary bit, made a great friend at West Coast Harley in Glasgow and so that is all bits got, last pieces arrive from EB Racing on tuesday and she is off for paint on Wednesday.

She is a 2009 model one of the last in the UK(2010 whats that all about then?????????) however whilst at Harley they took my chassis number and actually there is a new recall on the charging system, not sure what she said cant remember however bit ordered so her first outing in new clothes will be down to see them for first service and warranty work.

Going a little bit custom. Still white but pearlized, with a blue metal flake, should be lush, getting the EB racing decals as well, only in black so got to have them re-done in the mirrored blue to match tank am looking forward to getting it back in one piece, then will go out on track before I brave the roads again.

Bits arrived from EB racing today and there was a little surprise in the box for me. I had enquired about mirrors when I did my order but they were out of stock. I decided to suck the HD price and paid £76 for one mirror (incidentally EB wanted $75 for the pair, approx £50 sterling). However opened box and there are a pair of mirrors in there which I haven't paid for (yet!!!). Made me smile, at least somebody gives enough of a shit about our bikes to give decent customer service : D, off to paint tomorrow will post before, down road and after pics as soon as she gets back

hmmmmmmmmmm

Ok so Hardley Davidson surprise me yet again!!!

Got the nice, cheap part only to discover the monkeys sent me the wrong bit...it was actually the ignition cover they have sent me not the clutch cover. So phone for price and yes you are right nearly £200 plus Vat. Needless to say a part is being machined as we speak, for a third of that.

Next dilemma what colour decals, I have the EB Racing ones which I am getting re-coloured but what colour???? Am torn between white over the blue flake, reflective white or the same blue as the tank decals?? Or we can go completely random and do a stencil job in a rainbow flake. I only plan to do this once, and want it sympathetic to the original. All ideas would be greatfully received.
