Not wanting to go throught the trouble of installing an HID kit, but wanting to improve low beams, I tried an easy answer and just changed the Light bulb to a PIAA hight output bulb.

Here is the install which is basically like changing a light bulb. I did thid without removing any motorcycle parts.

Here is a pic of the bulb:

First remove the rubber covering. I was able to do this mostly with my fingers but a pair of long needle nose worked out even better and it was a snap to do.

Pull out the black connector from the bulb.

Next you will need to unclip the two retaining clips from the top. Again I found that doing this with my fingers worked well, but needlenose pliers also worked. The clips run vertically and clip a into a holding slot over the bulb. Just pull it out fron the holding slot.

Next just pull out the bulb and slip in the new one.

Reconnect the black connector.

And slip the black cover back on and your done.

I am VERY satisfied with this low cost improvement. The new bulb is much brighter than the stock bulb, in fact my low beams are now brighter than my high beams. I no longer use both my highs and lows at night in the city, which used to upset other cagers and bikes. Although much brighter they are angle as per low beams (and so lower than the highs) and so do not shine directly into the car infront on me when I'm waiting at a stop light. However, they project an nice strong beam on the pavement ahead of me, great for city driving at night.

I am now considering getting another bulb for my highbeams.

Ciao,
MMcC
