Does anybody know anything about this Yuasa battery?

I wonder if it's sealed when laid on its side.

No, do not use that battery that is a lead acid battery and will not work as the acid is in liquid form. The only battery you want to use is an AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat)
For the $75 they are asking you can go to Batterys Plus or Optima or Walmart for that matter and get an AGM for $75.

The joke is Yuasa?....They make batterys?

Spend the $15 more and get a brand new one at your HD dealer. Not only will it fit, it probably will last longer.

The EBR battery is a nice upgrade too.

A Big Crank (as well as several other brands) is exactly the same battery HD sells except it doesn't have a Bar & Shield on the case. I can't recall the name of the actual manufacturer....

I bought the Interstate batt for the Buell and the lugs have an offset that makes the connection of the batt cables a little bit of a challenge. It isn't bad but its one of those unexpected wrinkles on an otherwise simple install. The battery cables now connect to the top of my battery instead of the front like the H-D battery did.

Look at a picture of (or at!) the OEM battery and you'll see that the terminals sit flush against the face of the battery. Other replacements have a small inset that moves them back off of the face of the battery.

The deka's have an offset, but they provide a copper/brass(?) shim that makes them work perfectly.. you can see them attached to the red plastic 'holder' in the link above...the deka's also fit perfectly.

East Penn/Deka ETX-14, $75-ish at your local distributor found through East Penn's site.

I have no great interest in supporting HD.

2lbs, less than half the size of the stock battery. No issues with terminals that can't reach, and provides more cranking amps than the stocker. : )

Froggy,

You've got way too much disposable income if you're sending $400 on a motorcycle battery.

Wow!

.

It all dried up after I brought home a 4th bike last year : (

Oh and it will out last the stock battery, so economically it works out in my favor in the long run.

I thought that Yuasa actually made the batteries for Buell. I emailed Yuasa to see which battery I needed for my Ulysses. They replied either a YTX14-BS or a YTX14H-BS. The latter has a higher cca rating.
