Just picked up the CR after the new harness and flash. Anyone else think their bike picked up some steam from the reflash? I also thought that it seems to stumble a little more now, maybe old gas from the winter, maybe I was looking for a change and thought too much about it. Other than that I had a fun although cold (42) ride home. |

Curious, what flash were you on (pre-swap) and what is it now running (post-swap)? Mike |

I got the new harness but didn't get a flash update because my CR already has the 152. |

Mine seems unchanged. But it now idles lower. b4 was 1500-1700 after is 1100-1200 I like the low idle much better. Performance changes daily, but I doubt it has anything to do with the flash. |

From my understanding this flash is newer than 152 and programs the ECM to take advantage of the harness. |

I don't think that the idle is supposed to change with the new harness/flash. Has anyone else had that happen? |

I picked my bike up from the dealer yesterday morning after the new harness install and they said they checked the flash. I asked the service guy if it needed the most current flash, and he gave me a "they did whatever it says on the receipt", but the receipt is pretty much useless and says nothing. Why do HD dealers have to be such horrible places. The only people that are nice are the sales personnel because they need you to buy things. Needless to say, I have no idea what flash my bike has on it, but I didn't notice anything different after dropping it off for the service. Might have something to do with the fact that the service writer isn't working on the bikes, just doing paperwork and billing? |

Can anyone confirm that a flash update should have been performed along with the harness update? IE, a flash update is part of the service bulletin. (Message edited by Kidder on March 28, 2010) |

the bulletin has the tech verify the flash to the latest level. 152 for cr and 142 for r. idle change may be due to out side temp when bike is warmed up? i know when my bike is warmed up when the temp is warmer, we are talking 75 outside vs 40, i notice a differance in idle speed. |

Took bike in tonight for wiring (and flash?) and 600 mile service. I'll report tomorrow... PS: Dealer was like always on my other bikes (Sporty and V-Rod). Courteous and personal. Don't understand the dealer issues. (Message edited by daniii on March 29, 2010) |

Ok, got the bike back this evening. It definitely idles lower, and 1st gear at slow speeds is much less jerkey. 600 mile service was $145. The dealer charged HD another $138 for the wiring harness upgrade (and flash, I assume). They washed the bike, and had it done in 1 day. No complaints (HD in Allen Tx). |

American, he means that the dealer performed the work for free for him but billed Buell (HD) $138 for it. Not that they charged him that amount. |

Okay, the harness upgrade is done, and they said my original battery was damaged, so they installed a new one as part of the upgrade, but my tripmeter did not reset. My question is, does your tripmeter reset when the battery is removed? My other bikes only keep the total miles (odometer) and lose the tripmeter info. Is the Buell different? |

Quite possible that the ECM would store the trip, On replacement IC's they are blank, it takes a 1/2 hr for the ECM and IC to marry, the IC will then have the correct mileage, |

I do think the flash has made the bike less "twitchy". Same power at higher rpm, but less at lower rpms. I also think it idles lower. |
