I have been unable to locate a place to check the oil level on my 99 M2. Is there a dipstick? I found the oil drain alongside the frame at the bottom of the bike running to a hose. Also a cap under the seat. What fluids should i regular check/change? Previous owner indicated that he did an oil change at end of last riding season. Also where is a good place to buy a factory service manual? |

The cap under the seat is the dipstick. Pull it straight up to remove. The dipstick on the M2 is a little too short. Don't overfill the oil or the excess will come out of your breather lines. The oil should be checked only when fully warmed up to operating temperature, I check mine while running at idle after a decent ride. It is very easy to change, takes five minutes or less. Buy a Service manual from a Badweb sponsor or get from an HD/Buell support dealer. |
