I just learned how to extract my track as a route from Garmin.

After a days ride you go the the User Data section

Then Manage Trip Log

Than Save a Route (there could be several depending how often you shut the unit off)

Then you can upload the route into Mapquest and have it show as a map

Once thats done I have a program called MW Snap (its free) which allows me to snap the desktop and save it as a pic.

Pete, glad to see you and yours made it home safely. Thanks for coming to our area and riding with us, I truly enjoyed your company. A little later in the season and with less rock slides a better tour could have been had. Fortunately we did have a beautiful day to work with. If chance has me headed your direction I will not hesitated to give you a shout!

Vern, you guys took the time to show me the roads, and I'll always appreciate that.

Anytime you come this way I would be happy to do the same.

I have a feeling I will be coming your way again in the near future.

Our family had a great vacation.

Ok my final set of pics. During this trip I planned that I would alternate between riding days and family days. Friday our last day in the area was a family day.

We decided to head over to Maggie Valley to eat lunch and visit Wheels Through Time Motorcycle Museum. It also gave the family a chance to get to the higher elevations.

The Newfound Gap Road was busy. Compared to the other roads in the area it was rough, dirty and dusty. Really nice scenic views, a couple of tunnels, and some serious switchbacks.

The Wheels Through Time Museum is a diamond in the otherwise unimpressive town of Maggie Valley.

I hope you don't think that I had spent to much time at altitude, but the place had a spirituality about it. We all felt it, including my wife who is not impressed with motorcycles and the teenagers who aren't impressed easily.

We opened the car doors and were met by Trapper the Gardener. He was one the friendliest and enthusiastic people I have ever met.

I later found out from Dale the Owner/Collector that Trapper walked off the Appilaition Trail a few years ago and has never left.

All of the 300 rare bikes have a story and run.
This was was running as I was taking the pics and then left for a ride.

An Adventure bike before the term was invented

We received a personal tour from Dale the owner collector, he has been collecting since he was 15. This guy has a lot of passion, love, and knowledge of these old American motorcycles.

Board Track Racers

A large section of flat track racing with winning bikes. Look in the book see the bike, look up see the bike

A personal tour of Dales workshop

Lots of motorcycle art and the displays are well done

There is no way that I can show you all the stuff here and you just need to see it for yourself.

This year the museum is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Blue Ridge Parkway

I bought the t-shirt

I also bought some raffle tickets for this years bike, I really feel like I'm going to win it.

So, if you visit the area to Ride the Dragon, or The Blue Ridge Parkway and don't visit this museum you will be missing half the trip.
