WTF bs-stick – 3600 posts and “i” (YOU) represent like this and could not EXACTLY bring anything TO the table!!!. Do you actually TRY understanding a question BEFORE attempting to answer or help someone? No need to respond; just reread this VERY SHORT and simple thread…when you (“i”) are lucid!  If I was new here like Will is and my first impression was your (“i”) response and no one else chimed in to point out that we are not all totally irresponsible respondents (ass gaskets) like you, I would just log off and find relevant help elsewhere! However, since no one addressed the huge elephant with bad breath in the room, then I will!!!!! FYI - You cannot arbitrarily interchange injectors just because they fit a port or you have a PT Cruiser in your fleet with injectors LOOK like they MIGHT work. Seriously!!! At least Will said “HUH????”, only to get a semi recanted response from you (“i”). “Uhmm, let me know off line if (“i”) am wrong”!  There are at least 7 different injectors used on HD based engines (that would include tuber Buell’s) that deliver between 20 and 50 lbs of fuel per hour and are calibrated for specific applications and control modules. Interchanging them is cool if you know what you are doing, but if you (“i”) do not know what you are doing, then it might be best you remain a spectator as opposed to participant.  Seriously…Will - you never out lined the reason you need to replace the injector(s) and/or if it was determined by anyone if they did not function, or were merely dirty. Never the less, here is a rational response with limited information provided. First off, if the injector(s) are non functional and absolutely need replacement; ask your dealer to locate them from another dealer rather than ordering them from where ever it might be that takes three(correction, two) weeks. Personally, I have never had to wait more than 5 days for any factory part other than bodywork. Conversely, if the injectors are functioning but not performing to spec (restricted), they can be cleaned by any competent mechanic. Note that injectors can cost between 115 – 250 bucks as opposed to, 30 – 50 bucks to clean… Will, I hope the best… (Message edited by Rickie_d on February 27, 2010) | ||

Hey Rickie, take it easy man. May be you're new here or whatever but Buellistic has been contributing to this forum long before you joined the forum. Besides, reading your response, I don't see anything in there that helped the original question. Finally, the reference to the PT Cruiser injector was not arbitrary. People have actually used them as a direct replacement for the DDFI injectors. I certainly would use one in a pinch. No flame was intended. Just a suggestion to show some respect if you are planning to remain a part of this group. | ||

Kalali: Rickie_d live's very far up NORTH ... With all the BAD WEATHER he has not be able to go outside for a few weeks to go ice racing ... "i" can understand how he feels as "i" have just had both my knees replaced and not been able to do much of anything much less go outside ... "BUT" "i" can turn up the AIR CONDITIONER when it gets too hot and healed enough now to go outside anytime "i" want !!! | ||

Will- Any competent mechanic can clean them. There are shops that specialize in fuel injection repair. | ||

I was outside all day, sorry to keep you waiting!!! Actually I did it during the commercials of a movie I was watching tonight. I spend most of my time doing things instead of hanging on the last word of some ignorate jackass (I guess you now fit in that bucket)on the internet. Move along folks, nothing to see here... move along.  Since HD / Buell (RIP) doesn't actually manufacture the injectors odds are that there are multiple applications for the parts. As an example, I know for a fact that the IAC / pintle valve in an HD is a direct swap for a GM sedan (Pontiac). And there's plenty of 02 sensors that can be used as well. So do some research and you may be able to find a very cheap replacement for the injectors... | ||

Wow,such antics. Unusual to have an injector go south,have you checked fuel pressure? And cleaning them is a good bet. IIRC, the injectors were sourced from a Ford 4 cyl. | ||

Sloppy – Now there you go…something that can actually help, from someone that has real info, what is the part number and the price???? Fireman – What is the part number and the price? If left as stated, this just becomes another bad web idea…then urban legend…then a wife’s tail. Then the situation spirals out of control where gangs of buellers are pilfering the injectors from Focus’. That would be sad…. By the way, Will. I am a competent mechanic (among other things), if you cannot connect with someone local to address your problem, email me your phone number and we can make arrangements for me to clean you injectors…Saving a Focus, PT Cruiser, and random Pontiac in the process.
