You bottomed out on flat ground? Wow. That's hard to fathom. @ill In my defense I am jolly and light on my feet But there is an uncanny resemblance between me and a Shriner on a minibike when I'm motoring on the X-1. Not quite like a pair of wheels emerging from my butt crack but close. |

I wouldn't call beating the crap out of it... Everyone know there is little ground clearance. Plus the stock pipe is hella ugly anyway... This is just a reason for me to get a new sexy pipe! I guess you are going to pony up for the FMF full system, because all the other slipons are hella ugly too. I still can't see how you bottomed it out. I couldn't trying and with zero preload set up front. |

Most slip-ons look way better than the 25lbs slug under there...LOL |

I don't know about that Illbuell. That stock pipe is ugly. But the slip ons look SOOOO out of place. If they would make a clean black slip on that doesn't "try" to look cool like the other ones. All the slip ons I'v seen don't go with the theme of the bike. Just looked at Barkers Apex pipe. (minus the decals) FMF Apex pipe decal doesn't fly. And they should change the silver to the 1125 bronze color of the rest of the pipe. Then it would be about right~! (Message edited by Bob_Saggot on February 05, 2010) |

OMG, I am starting to think; 1. an air gap muffler like D_Adams system might be beneficial in that it wouldn't be as able to radiate head onto the motor. 2. an ugly muffler doesn't matter when there is a belly pan. 3. a belly pan could also wrap up to the middle of the case and be a saver. does a multi function belly pan sound feasible? dannybuell |

I an starting to think that if I put a belly pan on my bike I will bottom out on it and break it into a million little pieces... |

Captain_America; a smaller muffler with the belly pan serving as a sacrificial part? If you weigh more than 170lbs. new springs might be in order. dannybuell (Message edited by dannybuell on February 05, 2010) (Message edited by dannybuell on February 05, 2010) |

Sure! But no, really I want one that looks like Albert666's tucked up nice front to back. I am going to go to spintech this next week or so and see what they can do for me with some stainless ... And see if they can make it crush proof! |

I have the Jardine Carbon RT-5.. Granted I think it pales in comparison to the full EBracing or the FS system. It still looks miles better than that pig of a pipe that it came with stock.. I know, I know, we got to keep th EPA happy.. |

Really? this is the first I've heard of that rumor... Sounds awesome! If I had a teleporter we'd all be riding somewhere right now, we'll in the morn, causin trouble and laughing about it. Sometimes I hate how serious and critical guys get here... This has been one of my favorite threads so far! Keep it up gentlemen! |

Well If I remember correctly, Austria is not Japan... And yes there are some things that come from there that I cannot control... I just do my best not to support them in any way and buy everything from places other than China, Japan, and the Asian area....

Well Captain, In terms of performance and reliability there is a lot more evidence for calling the stuff coming from HD crap than the stuff coming from Japan. Not that I personally am calling the stuff from HD crap And I don't buy your "I'm doing my best not to support them in any way" I'm guessing you're doing what the rest of us do. We buy American if it's convenient. |

Please don't turn this into another "buy American" thread... Personally I absolutely love all things American and I'm not an American. You guys are incredibly lucky, you have some of the best "toys" in the world, I adore American muscle cars but accept that they're not perfect. I worked for AOHell for a short time in Az and had a company bike (a Road King) and it made perfect sense there, I wouldn't have one in the UK (wrong type and quality of roads) but it was just magnificent there. I think my Buell is a (slightly) flawed gem - it's not perfect (what is) but it is amazing and in reality it's something that could only have come from America. It has significantly less compromise built into it than an offering from japan or from the UK would have - and I see that as a big plus. Having said that, it stills shares a garage with my ZX11 which I use to commute on (now) and for touring with my good lady. We live in a global economy now. Japan makes some fantastic technological treats, China are really good at making things "cheaply", Austria seems to be full of raving lunatics (bless them) and don't even get me started on the Australians, they're barking mad (but lovely with it). Just whilst we're on the topic of nationalities - do you guys realise how lucky you are? American women are the (second) sexiest on the planet.. they are narrowly beaten to the top by the Welsh - I should know I married a Welsh lady and have had the very good fortune to have dated a few American women in the past. Hmmm - I seem to have gone waaay off topic sorry A strong fibreglass bellypan with a steel insert would probably save the exhaust if you're going to carry on riding like that... |

Thanks Jules! Spot on! You summed it up. Ya its dumb to fight about this so let's not. Keep it light and fun here! Mountain... Where did you find that bellypan!?! That would look like some mad max sh*t on my bike. I'd call her the madmax bat mobile |
