Installed on my son's 07 ULY. Pretty darned loud. Got it off Amazon.com for about 35 bucks delivered. Actually had to rotate 90 degrees from what the photo's show because it was interfering with the fairing cover when I went to screw it on.

Hopefully you rotated it so the 'WOLO' is right side up, and the wires come out the bottom. My instructions said anything more than 15 degrees off from perfectly upright will cause it too fail.

That looks pretty much exactly like the Stebel Nautilus.

Sounds loud to me. What do you guys that have a Badboy think? Is the Stebel way louder? I read where anything over 130db can instantly damage the ear organs and that is why I bought the Badboy since the Stebel is in the hearing damage arena.

I have the Stebel Nautilus which is essentially the same as the Wolo. It is very loud. Not loud enough to get the attention of drivers with their windows up, air on and the radio blasting though. This has been demonstrated to me on a few occasions.

Wow, my Stebel can fill the shorts of an oblivious cager in a split-second. I love to see them almost spill their coffee or drop their phones. Maybe the drivers around are listening to NPR or easy listening. Maybe its a range thing.

From all I could tell they are the same horn with a different badge.

Hooper,

I had one braindead lane changer so close I could have reached out and touched her window before she saw me, and I was already over the fog line and on the 12" wide left shoulder. I've made a few jump right up too, but it doesn't pay to substitute your Stebel/Wolo for your throttle or brakes.

Now that makes sense: ---> "but it doesn't pay to substitute your Stebel/Wolo for your throttle or brakes." We need to do whatever it takes to survive out there!! Good point Rwven!!

And if you are going for brakes and hit the horn they may chalk it down in front of you. I usually use it when I'm doing the full throttle escape thing. It can cause them to swerve to the right also.

IMHO, most horn usage amounts to after the fact give 'em a lesson kind of mentality - why not just stay out of their way, or get out of their.

I'm never out to give anyone a lesson - i just stay clear of 'em.

And after the fact - who cares.

You are absolutely right Johnboy, in the incident I posted about I was number 3 in a 3 person group several hours into an 11 hour ride. I was sitting back there in the rocking chair just a bit too complacent. I had plenty of time and space to squirt on ahead of her if I had been a bit more alert. I was concentrating more on my spacing to the bike ahead and to the right of me than I was on the car next to me.

There is a left turn I make on the way home from work onto a rode with a stop sign. If someone is stopped there I always double hit the horn like I'm saying hi to them. I didn't used to honk there. After the third time a car sitting there tried to hit me mid apex I started. People there just seam to be in a trance and start pulling out like you were going straight instead of turning.

I have the Stebel and my instructions said that it needed to be installed upright, you guys may want to check that. I think it had something to do with the compressor not working right or early failure.
I've had mine on my bike for three years with no problems, so far.
