Had my Uly out today to run some errands and charge the battery. I bought myself some Outdoorsman bags for XMAS and was doing a test run. I came to a light and there was 1200 sportster throwing revvs at me as he staged to my left. I am no Harley guy but his engine looked like mine and I think he recognized mine. The light turned green and he tried to take off. I lofted the front wheel when I hit second gear and ran a good city block on the back wheel while accelerating and spanked him. All I could think of was how it must have looked to him to see this bagged abomination running away on one wheel... I LOVE MY ULY!!! | ||

The Sportster is heavier and putting out 1/3 less hp. It was probably still fun though I had a 1200 sporty prior to the Uly When I'm on the Uly the second most often comment "is that a 750" We probably all know the first one with respect to our broken headlamp. The sportster had 1200 written on the hamcan which appears impressive. (Message edited by paralegalpete on January 07, 2010) | ||

I understand Rwcfrank. I have a Sportster and I love it but stock to stock the Uly is smoother, quicker, more powerful, etc. It sounds like you had a good day, Very cool. Be careful out there. | ||

A question I've been asked before on more than one occasion by non-riders and yuppie-must-have-a-Harley-and-doorag crew (essentially non-riders who own bikes... no offense to real riders who ride HDs intended) is if whatever bike I happened to be riding at the time was faster than a Harley. It is noble of you to take the time and effort necessary to educate the ignorant. A true public servant! | ||

 I love dusting Harleys. The madder they get the harder I laugh! Even better is beating a kid wearing shorts riding the latest stickered out sportbike. |
