They are getting harder and harder to find. Baldwin seats are very high quality, comfortable, and they are made by someone here on Badweb. Send a PM to Gowindward, he has a very nice pillion seat for the R models. | ||

These Baldwin seats, Would they be recomended over Corbin? I was going to get the Aftermarket Buell seat but finding it now is Not very easy. So i was settled on Corbin but these Baldwin seats look nice too. But they are a tad more expensive, No? Also anyone have pics of the Baldwin or Corbin seats on their 1125R? Preferably Black leather with Blue stitching? Lastly would you guys suggest the Vinyl or the Leather options? Thanks Mike | ||

I'd recommend the stock seat over Corbin. I have nothing positive to say about them, so I will leave it at that. Plenty of threads on the Corbin if you search.  | ||

Froggy, I've searched and most i find is that the Seats are awesome but the C/S sucks. Even on other forums for other bikes. Same feedback in most cases. C/S aside, does anyone have feedback on the Fit and Finish of the Corbin V the Baldwin, V the Aftermarket Buell seat? Mike | ||

For one thing, Corbin doesn't make an 1125R seat, so you would have to get a Firebolt model. Then you have to modify the mount on it a bit to get it to fit. Then you got to worry about the thing falling apart. Corbin even says on their website that their seats aren't meant to get wet, and should be removed when washing the bike. | ||

Just a correction to my above post, the issues with having to modify the Firebolt seat are for the rider, not pillion. I don't know anything about a Corbin pillion, but you got a 110% chance of it sucking. | ||

Fact is, I LIKE Corbin seats, when they're built right. Their seats are firm, but comfortable for lots of miles, and the quality of the materials is generally quite good. And I agree with their seat design philosophies, if not always their implementations. But getting a quality one built per the order is, more often than not, WAY harder than it ever should be. Al | ||

I dont really need one till spring but I was worried that they would be hard to find then. Turns out its hard to find now.  I know for sure that it will be needed for any distance riding. My wife was less that pleased with the stock pillion. After sitting on it myself I dont blame her. If anybody comes across one please keep me in mind. | ||

I found that link earlier but it appears that they do not sell the rear seat which is what I am looking for. I think the stock front is very comfortable. | ||

I have a Corbin seat on my 1125 - even after you modify the mounting tabs (which I had to do on my Firebolt as well), it still isn't an exact fit. It looks to mount up perfect, but the last time I had the seat off you could see where the rocker box was making contact and rubbing on the seat pan. I don't think it did any real harm, but they do touch. And I didn't trim the bumpers down any to have the seat sit closer to the frame. Other than that, I love it for all the reasons Al mentioned (I bought it from him). THankfully the stock seat on my S3T seems to be good enough to not need to bother with an aftermarket one. What a pain in the ass, lol. | ||

I need the stock one to hold the pillion cover on. There is no way to fit the pillion cover over a touring one. If I cannot find a Buell touring pillion I will buy one on ebay and contact him. | ||

does anyone else make a seat like the corbin that is lower as opposed to increasing the height ~1" like the buell touring seat/pillion? | ||

Send an email to a seat maker like Baldwin about your specific requests, most of them should be able to accommodate your needs. There isn't much padding on the stocker, so its not like you really can get much lower. | ||

But getting a quality one built per the order is, more often than not, WAY harder than it ever should be. Again have to agree. Getting the RF right was a PIA - no pun intended. The days of walking in and getting it done while you wait are over I guess. Had the GS done while at Laguna Seca for the GP weekend. Back when they ran 2 strokes. Tells you how long ago. |
