I think resale on the Buells will go down, unless they become collectors items. I don't actually care about that though -- I bought mine to ride! Old, high-mile XBs never went for that much anyway. Tubers had even worse resale | ||

Looks to me like a vendictive crush job to me...maybe Erik did something to really piss off Willie and company...it don't make any kind of sense to rub Buell out...the company could be picked up by other investors...sold for profit or some sort of leverage by the mothership. | ||

I understand peoples' concerns about bike values but I didn't buy my Buell based on resale value. I bought it because it is a great motorcycle to ride. I am very saddened by todays news and Erik does look like he has had a bad day. I truly feel for him and all involved in Buell. I actually feel heartbroken; like when a girl leaves you. I have never, ever felt this way about a machine or a Company. I would assume values will go down but for those of us that love these bikes and ride the crap out of them then I guess we'll be just fine!! Go ride...... | ||

I agree, the resale price is not the end of the world. If HD continues to provide parts, then there really is no problem. I had to order most parts, so delivery time should not change to much. I agree with Moonrunrs. It seems many american companies have lost the long term perspective and the passion for their products. After recently buying two Pontiacs and also owning a 2001 Oldsmobile it is getting harder to keep pushing the "Buy American" banner. It's really a shame. | ||

Yep, still can get parts for the '64 Corvair Spyder (Sunday driver..)-long as parts/service are available I'll keep riding her. Same deal with the Buell. May get that Zuma 125 now though...  I hope Eric can someday go independent and build a bike he really wants. Maybe the deal with the Blast was to get the ball rolling. Time will tell. | ||

This is like my last relationship. All of a sudden I find out it isn't working and was never given a hint that it was over. I spoke with a sales guy ay Hal's just moments ago and he seemed to be suprised as well. Said they were getting a lot of calls regarding $3000 - $5000 incentives and such. Said it was NOT true. though he was talking about $9000 + tax and title on a 09 ss. He said this is a big shock to a lot of the "lower" levels as well. I asked him if this was some sort of PR stunt and he seem honest when he said he did not think so. Just sharing. | ||

I can only wish he has plans for greatness, don't ever stop pressing the envelope Eric! God knows I won't stop riding my Uly, and adding to the Buell stable in the future. | ||

Yes it sad but who cares about production if they still sell parts,you already own a buell,like the bike,enjoy riding it etc. what does it matter? I think someday they will reintroduce it just like the Camaro Maybe? If no more buell forever I will ride it until it will not roll anymore! I'm only worried about the resale value because I had been planning on moving up to the XT once I could afford it. I don't want to buy an XT now. I love the bikes and all, but buying a bike made by a non-existent company just doesn't float right in my head. | ||

hd is going to support you and your buell the warranties are still good and they will continue to make and stock parts for the buell for at least 7 years. harley discontinued them bc they were loosing money on them. look at all the ppl selling the 1125 for 8k.they are doing that bc they cant sell them. if you cant sell you cant buy more and you cant pay the 200ppl that work there. buell is bad at advertising thats why they are done. they will live on with us and hopefully make a comeback. | ||

I will never sell my XBR now, I almost felt that way and now it will stay with me and change. My 'bolt is the most fun on two wheels I have ever had, and that is over 40 years of riding, I found what I was always trying to build or buy. I am truly saddened that this has happened and stand firm in my resolve to ride on with my Buell, it is the best engineered bike I have ever experienced, I need not change. Pete | ||

Sadly nothing this new with so many models is a collectors item until it's 20 years old. There's thousands of Tubers and XB's, The 1125's might go up in value except riders will have a hard time getting parts from HD, can you say backorder ??? No matter what the manufacturing laws read......What a major DRAG !!!! | ||

all I can say is ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!! myself I have invested many hours and much time developing stuff as well. to get kicked in the teeth by HD. anyway give it 90 days and at that time we will know the last word on the direction. what got me on buell was the Britten Motorcycle something long ago many remember some dont. John and Erik both had/had the same passion. i hope Erik moves to a different company now that HD has once again did him wrong. this is not the first time they did this if you go back and look at the history and videos available to us. to me it seems like they are pushing there xr750 and the flat track stuff still as well as there drag stuff but funny part is as a privateer you cant get it. they pick whom they want on top. now that new bikes and buell is gone does this open up aftermarket? does it allow Erik to be free to make a sister company in his name. maybe a relatives name only time will tell cause I'm sure BPR of Austria will sell him parts as well as brembo, ohlins and others. Time will tell where he goes. I personally HOPE HE DOES NOT GO WITH HARLEY ANY LONGER THEY HAVE CRAPPED ON ERIK AS I WOULD SAY ONE LAST TIME IF IT WAS ME. I WOULD FIND A WAY OUT AND TAKE MY PERSONAL IDEALS THEY DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO A WALK. then if i saw any idea i ever had i would file against them on it just out of spite. as you see I to am pissed. and i spend an avg od 8000.00 plus a year on parts myself doing bikes. now this goes out the window. HD just lost a few thousand bucks of mine. I have a 03,a 06 and 1/2 of a 05 guess its time to store things and get ready to move forward. Erik if you read these post dont stop other companies will back you. It opens new doors and direction. a new bike name___________ by Erik Buell Racing & company If Erik builds it I'll ride it. well as long as Hd is not related to it on a future bike. I'll still ride my buell. but never a true harley after this. I'll even switch to getting every replacement part aftermarket when i can to boycott the HD. boycot Hd all we can. lets make a list of how and where to shop for parts. If we are in there pockets they will listen. cometic, genuine james, redshift, hastings, ebc and ect take our money somewhere else thats my plan of action. | ||

As someone mentioned earlier, I'm waiting for Court to chime in here. Groff-are you sure Harley was losing money on the Buell??? I didn't think so. Optimized-i too hope Erik will start another company but I am afraid it may be too "elite" or VERY expensive to own one. | ||
