hi all, I am planning to get an action camera to record some of my rides and especially as I am attending a BUELL UK adventure weekend where I will riding the Uly off-road and i want to record my crashes (lol).... http://www.buellperformanceacademy.co.uk/productca rt/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=23&idcategory=6 We will be spending an entire weekend riding around Snowdonia in North Wales (UK) on Buell's own Uly's - so my own one wont get damaged if i fall.... I have done a bit of research into what camera's are on the market. so far i have been looking at ATC5K - which I can get for £100 or should I buy the new Contour HD - which records full HD and the vids look great...but is 3 times the price. Another friend of mine uses Hero Go pro wide - which is good too, just the sound is bad? Anyone got any experience with action cameras? I would like to know you thoughts and i will of course post a detailed report on here after the event... thx Lars | ||

Lars, I use a simple sony digital photocamera on my Uly. I use it to make movies. However I don't take the Uly off-road. I bolt the thing to the Uly with Rammount parts. It does get shaken  | ||

hi all, i have yesterday ordered a little gadget which should capture some footage of the Buell adventure event... its the Veho Muvi Camcorder - very small piece of kit...claiming the smallest camcorder in the world...it records 640-480 @30fps with a fast micro SD card. i also got the extreme sports kit which includes various mounts and helmet straps etc. as well as a fast 8gb SD card for 4 hours of footage. it all should arrive in the next couple of days... i will than do some test rides at the weekend and than hopefully get some good off-road footage on the Uly! thx Lars (Message edited by Lars1974 on September 22, 2009) | ||

I've owned a Go Pro Hero with wide angle lens for six months. Mounted on handlebar or helmet. Used on street and dual sport rides in all weather and conditions. Waterproof, has stood up well. Also a pocket cam to catch riding buddies in action (crashing!)... Kodak Zi6 HD, has great sound but no stabilization feature. | ||

A bit off topic. I put a working atomic clock in the top case and it shook itself into a non working condition. I guess that'll teach me to pay 5 bucks for one in the clearance aisle at Walmart. Never seems to bother my 6.3 megapixel Aldi digital camera. | ||

i looked and liked the contour HD too...but its over 6 times the price i paid for the little Muvi Cam.... i know the quality will be nowhere near the contour hd, but i just wanted something cheap to see how much i use it etc... | ||

Just did a bunch of video work on my uly trip called "Memphis to Moab" in google. Video has not been posted yet but I can tell you that the best images came from mounting the cam to me, not the bike with ram mounts. I bought a canon s10is still cam to do video duty onthis trip. It does a nice 30 frame recording and the capacity is 177 minutes on a 16 gig sd card. It has a fantastic flip out screen so you can see your composition from any angle..... I did t do helmet mount as I don't like seeing the helmet in the shot... Hope you have great luck. | ||
