could anybody let me know what tools i will need to change the belt on my 03 9r? I need to pick them up from my father before i leave for home in an hour. i tried searching but the internet is so damn slow where I am. |

Torx size 27 to remove the pulley cover, and a set of Allen keys to remove the swingarm brace and other crap. Also don't know the size off hand, but a socket to loosen the bolts for the idler pulley. Thats all I can recall from last time I did it. |

Also the axle tool and 7/8 socket. Loosening the axle about 15 turns gives the belt some free play. By doing that I've been able to leave the idler alone but considering the bike in question is an 03, I'd still loosen the pulley just because the belt is so sensitive to twisting. NOTE: DO NOT TWIST THE 03 BELT WHEN REMOVING/INSTALLING If you need to remove a belt guard to avoid twisting it do so. Most 03 belt failures are from the belt being twisted which weakens it terribly.
