Bart, have a safe trip. I look forward to seeing you. I would like to point out that the body work came from Buell and the other swag, yet to be picked up, will be from HCHD. They are a great Buell dealership. With the exception of Jammer riding an XB instead of a tuber I would say High Country HD/Buell is a perfect Buell dealership. | ||

We packed up and headed out this morning. At our first fuel stop (130 miles) I inspected the front iso. Well, time to turn around and head home. The iso is failing and I have a spare at home. Took an hour and swapped it out and will be back on the road shortly. Need to lighten the load a bit. | ||

The pendulum has been swinging back and forth on my S2 for the last couple of weeks. I keep thinking I'm going to make it, and then another hurdle hops up. I've had help from parents watching kids, sponsors and sellers shipping items quickly, and I've burned quite a bit of extra vacation time, but this bike apparently doesn't want to go. Maybe I just wasn't quite up to the task. It may be for the best, I was starting to take shortcuts that I'd probably regret later. The bike is close enough that rather than show up on the S3, I've decided to stay home and keep working on it. I've struggled with this for a couple of days, but with all of the things I've been ignoring around the homestead for the last month or so, it would be for the best to stay home and get the bike done. The wife's been pretty understanding, but I've probably stretched her limits as well as the limits of responsibility. I'd have liked to have a nice shiny bike to show off, along with Loren's work on the seat. It'd be nice to get some ideas and pics of everyone else's bike, as well. Some of those door prizes would have found a good home here, too! It's awesome to see Buell and the sponsors support this event. If nothing else, this event helped move this project along much more than it would have otherwise. A big thanks to Frank and the cast with him in getting this together. I'll look forward to catching you all at year two. Have a ball. Remember those of us that couldn't quite make if for one reason or another. I'll raise a toast to all this weekend, with any luck to the sound of a second V-twin in the garage. | ||

Frank, In Lubbock now, 'bout to go to bed. Denny and I'll head out at 7:00 tomorrow for BV. Google maps says it'll take us 12 hours, but I think less (barring mishap). I have your mobile and will call you when we hit town. Sure do need a front fairing for my "RoadThing Special"! Maybe there should be a "Best Black Sapphire Pearl '95 S2 with No Front Fairing Decal" category!  HBJ | ||

Roger, it was nice talking to you. I wish I could have talked longer but I hit some bad traffic. I had to go to Denver to pick some stuff up and swing by and get a trailer because I have way more than what I can pack on a bike. Loren, I am sure you got the S3T running again but you can always bring the S2. Jay, sounds great. I think 11 to 12 hours is about right. I do not know when I will get there. I still have much more to do. I have an extra front fairing if you need one. Let me know if you check your email before you head out. I can throw it in the truck. Frank | ||

I wondered why no posts on the storm fronts ........I am in Green RiveR, Ut. I did a fair amount of getting the s2 ready...so far it is running great.....put in a new ignition switch, before leaving the bay area and the new will not let the key come out. I have arrive in Buena Vista. The Hotel is on the right (East) side of the road if coming from the South. I thought for sure it was on the west side. Lynn will be joining me tomorrow. She is taking some test for school and got me out of the door early so I would not bother her.  I am really looking forward to this. Frank | ||
