I thought I would start a fun little thread.

I live in the Tampa Bay area and there are all kinds of bikes everywhere here, I hardly ever see any sport bikes generating lots of attention, it seems to be more of the custom choppers getting the looks.

Around here there is a stretched out chromed Busa on every corner. I've just never seen a sportbike around here with exception of some of the exotics generate much attention, but since I have been cruising this thing around I might as well be driving a Ferrari with Jenna Jameson, Flava Flave, Siegfried, Roy, and their albino tiger in the front seat.

A pedestrian in downtown Tampa almost got creamed by a car at the crosswalk he was staring at the bike so hard.

Anybody else have any funny stories about the looks they are getting riding this beast around?

Mine is noise related...

I pull up at an intersection, and guys are looking around to see where that rumble is coming from... They look at me and you can see the confusion in their faces... "That noise can't be coming from that bike.?"

Then you blip the throttle, and the confusion just gets worse!

I love it.

On a resent cross country trip. People kept coming up and walking a round the bike and giving a detailed once over. They would then say, "hey that's a wicked looking bike, is that the new BMW". Note the tank bag was covering up the Buell badges.

I get a lot more looks now that this bike is really loud. People say loud pipes dont save lives, I disagree. I have witnessed a half dozen people give up and hang up their cell phones while I am stopped next to them at a light. I was pushing the bike into the garage last night and someone yelled "NICE BIKE!" out of a passing car window. Ive also gotten some random yells from women.

It definitely turns more heads than my M2, which was also very loud, and my gixxer 750, which was loud.

The cosmetics of this bike may be considered controversial by some, but I feel the attention it garnishes speaks for itself.

I used to get all kinds of looks.

I think though people where trying to figure out how they could get a circus bear to ride a motorcycle.

I'll never forget the first week i had my bike, at my work there is a group(10ish) of ducati riders that come in every so often. So i come to work and see them so i decide to park right next to all of the BRIGHT ducati red 1098's, 999's, 998's, and one 996, i go inside for a drink or somethin, and when i come out there is at least 10 people or so surrounding my bike, and paying NO attention to the ducati's lol. so when the ducati riders come out the look is priceless, they are completely stunned that no one cares about their BIG money bikes, all of which had termi exhausts. Then they come over and start looking at my bike and have N0 CLUE what it is,they give me so complements and leave. So they decide to fire up at the same time, still no one looks, so they haul @$$ leaving, still no one cares hahaha, greatest moment ever lol!!!

This proves you dnt need to spend alot of money to get alot of attention; )

I LOVE MY 1125R!!!!

On my two day ride home from Dayton to Newnan, GA I received numerous compliments on it. My Ducati drew many positive comments, but the R may take the title of most admired.

It does stand out in the crowd...

In that crowd without a doubt. There must be a bar there to attract so many hogs.

They do have a lot of patches and stickers for sale there. : )

My tailbag is made by Chase Harper. I can't remember the model number and it doesn't seem to be in their catalog anymore. Picked it up at Laguna Seca a couple years ago, I should have bought two. It uses wide velcro type straps that go under the pillion seat and has enough storage for a few days on the road, with a bungee net built into the top as well for overflow.

+1 on the comments. When I had my 04 Bolt, I'd get comments from the sportbike crowd. With the R, everyone looks. I just tell them, "Be afraid, very afraid".

Interesting... I don't get many looks. I've had a girl, who was with her boyfriend, tell me I had a nice bike, but that's been about it.

There was one time parked at gas station that a couple guys where leaving, and the one in the passenger seat couldn't enough of an eyeful of the thing. I think I got more looks and compliments with my Firebolt.

No difference - doesn't hinder the ride any.

I have a Big Harley Davidson Sticker on the back of mine. I've had people fall over them selves asking me about my Harley Davidson!

Before the bike was released(but it was announced), I went for a ride with a Buell engineer buddy of mine. We stopped at a gas station in New Glarus, WI to get some gas, and a drink.

While we were filling up, in comes about 10-15 Ducatis, on one of their club rides...

It took a bit of time to get out of there : )

Rob, mine is noise and sight. This last weekend was my first time at my home track. The first time I started my bike up with the Torque Hammer heads turned. Idling through the pits made most stop and look. On track I actually had slower riders move over because they could hear me coming.

But I've always gotten that look ranging from "what is it" to "Oh ya, it's one of those."
