Has anyone installed this set? After a lengthy wait my bags finally arrived. The kit comes with "new" rear turn signals that appear identical to those already on the Uly and instructions to throw the old ones away. There is a "license relocation" bracket which appears not to relocate but maybe reinforce the existing bracket. Can anyone advise me as to these to items?

Cheers, Will

I'm not sure where the "Led these" came from in the post title. I copied and pasted the description from the Buell site????

Cheers, Will

I installed the Outdoorsman bags on my Ulysses. . . the entire process is here somewhere from the unpackaging to the install.

The wires on the new turn signals are longer, that's the only difference.

I am, for the sake of the title, outfitting the bags with Whelan TIR3 LED lights.

Court is correct. The only difference is the length of the wires. If I remember correctly it only took me about three beers to install. I wish I did my aux brake light at the same time but I did not and had to loosen up the brackets to install it later.

I have a photo of the "old" and the "new" rear turn signals side by side but it's buried somewhere. . . this may help.

But, the SOLE difference is the length of the wires. The license relocation bracket will require about 3" more wire. The install is simple and fabulous. Leave everything loose until you are complete and happy, then work through, lok-tite and mark each fastener as you bring it tight.

I love these bags . . . simple and effective.

Thanks Court. A picture speaks a thousand words.

...and latches you can close the bag with, right Court? : )

Since you're playing with TIR-3 lightheads...take a look at the Federal Signal Cuda Tri-optic. I disassembled one - inside are three circuit boards with three LED's per board, their own fresnel lens setup, and a pin type power connector. I put one of these boards in each of my rear turn signals on my Uly when I converted the front to 1125CR mirrors/signals and an LED flasher. They fit perfectly inside the stock housing/lens setup, and they're BRIGHT. I can send pics if you want, just let me know.

And, I used red. Wanted to use blue...but went 'safe' ; )

Great photos though.

I bagged and numbered all my hardware like Court did in the first picture and things went smoothly. I did end up with an extra pair of reflectors. Are the bags always so obstinate the first time on?

Cheers, Will

My wife got her second bike (an '09 Uly XT - Red) at the end of April and we sprung for the Outdoorsman bags for it and she loves them. Like others have said. The install was fairly quick & easy. No worries!

Side note: She posted this in the for sale section too, but in case anyone missed it, we have the standard XT bags / cases for sale and all boxed up and ready to be sent to a new home if anyone is interested! I took them off and swapped them out right after we bought the bike so they are brand new and re-boxed in the box for the Outdoorsman cases.
