Hey Ronmold, where did you get those and lets see a picture if you can...
I get cramps because my grips are small!

Do a google search. A lot of people swear by them. You can buy them here: http://www.casporttouring.com/optimizer/category/G RIPPUP.html

+1
Best $7.50 I've ever spent on a bike and an absolutely essential item on any bike.

The upload thing here doesn't always work for me, comes up w/ some cryptic message so I used the 'bucket.
They say soap 'em up to slip them on, a little KY works better and then dries like a glue!
Could also get you "the look" from the wife..."hey honey, could you grab the KY and come out to the garage?"

Had these on my RIP 06, did not know what brand (they were on when I bought it) Thanks! They were great and I miss them on my new Uly, now I know brand and lubricant

Thanks for finding these. I hope it cures the buzzy lawnmower handlebars on my 08. Just ordered a set.

Conchop - better off w/a fat pair of HVMP bar ends to reduce the buzz.

Grips will never do the trick.

Or You could just run at higher RPM's where the bike is smoother anyway...plus they tend to also get better mileage.

I'm riding with Oury grips, and they're great, used them in the past on my mountain bike, and the motorbike version they're at least for me the best. I got the Road grip.

My Honda Ascot had similar grips (complete grips, not just covers) to the Grip Puppies. See here:

http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Prod uct.jsp?skuId=&store=Main&catId=&productId=p50320& leafCatId=&mmyId=

They worked well too. If you need new grips anyway, these would be worth trying.

I put the Buell Lightning Traction Hand Grips
55959-02Y for $16.95 on. I had to cut the ends out to make them work on the ULY but they're great.

I was a bit skeptical at first on the Grip Puppies; I'm no longer a skeptic. They work grrreaat! It fits cleanly, no cutting, just a bit of soapy water and 5 minutes to spare.

They work even better when coupled with HVMP heavy duty bar ends!

Thanks for the post Ron. I have set on order. I didn't think I could do anything with having the factory heated grips on the 08. I would have gladly suffered the smallish size HEATED grip, but know I am set.

Already have the bar ends - handlebars filled w/ silicon. Lean bikes shake, primary chains add to it. Ultimately, since it is an EPA legal sporty motor, it should ride on gel filled isolator mounts.

Conchop, how'd the old "fill the handlebars with silicone" trick work for you? I did that and all I managed to accomplish was making a big mess (I forgot that there were thru holes further down the bars.....crap....!) The vibes thru the bars was about the same before and after. I finally bought a Renthal aluminum motocross style bar w/ 1" risers and used foam fat grips (I think they might have been Grab-On grips, couldn't find any Johar grips...)which seemed to help a little. Now I can ride 5 or 6 hours straight without numb fingers.

Haven't done it on heated grips yet, but I just use a couple wraps of good ol' cheap tennis racket grip tape from WalMart to upsize the grips on my S1W. Cheap, easy to redo if they start to look gunky, and so many sexy colors! ; )

Anyone else tried the HVMP bar ends? They're a chunk of change @ $71 including shipping. Worth it?

Sanjuro, I have the HVMP bar ends.

They are not worth the money.

HVMP bar ends
One of the initial mods made to my Uly.
Look good. Beefy as anything.
Work well with stock hand guards.
Saved my bike from major damage when I laid it down two winters ago.
Company sent me new stem and bolt including s/h - FREE.
Great customer service.
Definitely worth it IMHO.

FYI - order the Grip Puppies, I went the instant gratification route and bought a set from Cyclegear (I believe their "house" brand) and the heated grips on high made them separate at the seams and fall off. Good thing I did a driveway test before taking off.
