Got pulled over by the OPP, equivalent of state troopers. Saw him staring at me as I went through small town. When I doubled back, he was also coming down that road. He waved me over.
All he wanted was to ask about the Buell 9R: how reliable, how'd it handle, how'd it compare.
Had to laugh, before I hit the town, I had been "above" the posted speed. (Nowhere in Ontario are you allowed over 60 mph.)
Saw him later as I came of one country road on to another. Fortunately, again, there was a clump of houses so I hadn't built up speed. He waved.
Somewhere today, I reduced the chicken strip on my new Road Attacks to about a half inch. No idea where or how.
I pulled up beside a cop the other day at the gas station in my supercharged 1970 Plymouth 'cuda 5 speed. He asked, "How fast does it go?" I told him I wasn't really sure, I never had it above the posted speed limit. He smiled at that and shook his head. We talked for awhile and he was really cool. I still wouldn't ever tell him how fast it's been.
i had a 1970 cuda 440-6 with a torqueflite tranny, that i bought brand new in 1970.. i special ordered it and took about 6 weeks to arrive... what a slick car.. i guess im revealing my age...
I had a new 440 Dart for a brief time. Got up one morning and car was gone. Police found it earlier, two black strips from a stop light right up to the pole they hit half way up the block. Two bloody head impressions in the windshield and both doors open. At least it went out in style.
