I love what happens to some of my threads ; ).

RipDog I get it, its a quick bike. My point was only that I felt the power was more controllable then the R6 and thus, I feel very comfortable on it.

Any bike, especially a fast bike (which the buell is) demands respect, but some are easier to get into trouble then others.

Yeah you can hammer on the throttle in 1st and have some serious problems on the buell, same thing on an RR... But in any other gear I have yet to have the buell scare me with sudden throttle addition, even a WOT roll on.

See I think what the guys are trying to tell you is that by already feeling comfortable and not feeling scared of the bike after such a short time and minimal experience riding you can get surprised really fast and then get hurt. I understand that it might not be intimidating but one day it could react diff then you expected because your not used to all that torque and bang you get hurt. You can loose traction real fast due to torque getting on the gas too fast coming out of a corner you know and high sides hurt like a bitch.

I hear you Js... Thing is I wasnt even comfortable enough on the R6 to launch out of a corner at what most people would call hard.

So by saying I feel as comfortable as I did on the R6 I am not saying I feel comfortable enough to go out and ride 100 percent, I am just riding as I did the R6... Mellow and slowly working my way more and more into the power band and faster and faster through the corners at a slow and steady pace in order to learn safely and effectively.

And the guys are trying to tell you to still be careful even if you feel comfy that's all. It's just that the way you say it make it sound like you think this bike can't be as dangerous as the I4's and to me it as dangerous if not more because most people feel more comfy and are less respectful of a twin then a I4 because it got lower HP# and most people only look at hp#

I totally understand TQ vs HP and am being very careful with this bike sorry if what I was saying was misunderstood!

Just meant I felt comfortable on it quickly, didnt mean I felt comfortable enough to go ride 10/10's in the twisties or pop the clutch... Just feel good on it thats all.

"Hello, my names Jordan Raice, and I am a postaholic"

I have always done it with all my hobbies! Only time I dont is when I am out doing them... When I am riding often I wont post much, when I dont have the chance to ride (just got back from a nice ride before I started adding to this again ; )...) I am on forums non-stop and like to converse : p.

Ill try and control myself but I apologize in advance if I relapse!

well its just because we all own buells and live by them and taking about or mentioning other types of bikes just doesn't belong in a Buell dedicated website. I don;t know, it's just good housekeeping by talking about buells. I mean the occasional mention of other bikes is perfectly fine. But its a buell forum...lets talk about buells! no worries jraice just talk buells and you will be good..simple easy rule to follow right? thanks and safe riding!

^Sometimes it doesn't seem like that's what you're saying. An J don't take the words of caution as a bad thing. My kids are 17 and 18 like you and I know a few others on here with kids your age, so as parents we worry, that's all. The thing about B.W. is that it's kinda like a family even thought we haven't all met in real life.
Oh, and to the marines please don't ever say and I'll kick any retards A$$... 'cuz the last time I heard that I realized (after getting my a$$ kicked) I was the retard...BTW thank god y'all are on our side!

Right......

There are a dozen frequent posters on here that I can name off the top of my head that don't even own a Buell. Two of them are moderators. This is BadweatherBIKERS.com not BadweatherBuells or BadweatherRice or BadweatherBaggers or BadweatherBMW.

Is that better? The exhaust note in the hills is amazing after you get the rev's up (valve opening I suppose).

I cant even imagine what the drummer will sound like!

Haha cant say that that helps dont know what an old ass Camaro sounds like : p.

I think the bike sounds decent (drummer will obviously blow it away) when its all spun up but I am stoked to have a nice deep sound when I am just putting around or idling. Thats where the stock system is annoyingly quiet.

Oh yea Californya bans lightbulbs, black cars, and anything without a catalytic converter. Hurry up and move out before the tree huggers cause a earthquake and make the state separate from the rest of the continent.

Its better then Florida where you get a harsher punishment for speeding on two wheels or lifting the front wheel then molesting children.

Florida is so flat that living there is punishment enough. Not to mention the unbearable heat.

The quote of the day:

Whenever my sailors start complaining about ship life, I give them a quick reminder about who is doing the really hard work.

Jraice, I like you for some reason, think you have brought a new bread of Bueller to this board, very inquisitive and eager... That I like! But let me say, just wait until your bike has a chance to break in. That's when all of the power comes too!! Just the other week on my 08 Ss with 3500k, she ripped me back into the seat, pining my throttle hand all the way back. I had to fight to pull myself forward to ease off. These bikes will surprise you... It's all GOOD.

If ain't on living on the edge you're taking up space.

Thanks Boney95...

Yeah I honestly think there might've been some increase in power just in the 500 miles I have put on the bike, or more likely its just that I am spinning the motor up a lot more.

I think my initial thought that the buell was not as quick as my previous ride was based on me expecting a LOT more power down low...

But now I realize, 2,500rpm you can lug. 3,000-4,000rpm you can get some pull but its fairly sedate. Above 4,000rpm in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear and this thing pulls HARD.

Makes me think I would've been just fine with a 9 ; ). But I have the power, its usable power as opposed to many other fast bikes on the street and its a BLAST.

Dude!

Does it matter, it's, like I said the quote of the day. To help you out, They're America's 911 Force, the tip of the spear, need I say more. The United States Marine Corps. Did not mean to rhyme.

In my opinion: A Buell's power/tq is plenty strong. But by no means should anybody be afraid of it, unless you're a straight noob with 0 experience or just one of those MSF riders that continues to stall your Blast on the last day, yet you are still passed through. These bikes are only going to buck you off if you don't know what the hell you are doing. To be honest, I was more weary on my CR250 (a lot more snappy and less forgiving) then I am currently on my 12. Yes I do respect the it's power, but it's not overwhelming.

Check this out, they did a long term test on a 12S, they dynoed it at 50,000KM, and it put down more power than the pre breakin dyno. http://froggypwns.com/buellpdfs/Motorrad_article_e n.pdf

Yea I don't get the bread comment either.
