I didn't hind any mil discounts last year. but some of the HD shops had coupons for the IMS. call up Buell of Frederick and ask. unfortunately i have drill that weekend and can't go. it would be cool to have a few BWB guys ask the HD booth people were the Buells are. | ||

Be careful what you ask the booth folks. *I* worked the Buell booth last year. They do tend to staff with locals, with a couple corporate "team leader" types. If you get a local, you're likely to get the familiar "huh?". Jus' sayin'.... | ||

I'm totally ignoring the HD booth. There are too many other cool bikes out there to look at. I'm going on Sunday. If you have Progressive insurance they are offering a 10.00 discount. Buell Homecomming Looks like I'm going I bought a Banquet ticket and just reserved a room so if anyone is going from our Tri-state area and want to hook up to SUPERSLAB for 2 days let me know. K | ||

Well...back to work tomorrow. Been off nearly a month, it was nice (aside from the surgical recovery and the *23* staples in my leg)...but time to get back to the grind. Walking through the shop today, I saw (1) orange '09 Uly, a red '09 CR, a cherry bomb '09 9SX, a black '09 12R, and a yellow '10 Blast. Lemme get my feet on the ground...but someone call me and buy something so I have something to do!! (but wait till late afternoon so I can get my s**t together, LOL). K - if you're slabbing to HC'10, we need to keep in touch. I want to ride, but she needs more seat time. I just found out that my friend ca't move this wedding date from June 19th. I am part of the wedding party so i can't go the the banquet and then drive back hoped up on caffeine for the wedding. Stupid dress rehearsal. | ||

I'd go...but I don't have last years' "I'm working for the factory" excuse to get off work  Whoever goes - make sure to wear your Buell gear. Please - don't get mouthy at the HD display...but make sure our presence is noticed. "Seen, not heard", for the sake of dignity and respect...but let 'em know we're still out there! | ||

I'm going on Sunday I'll wear Buell gear. And stop by the Total Control display and say Hi to Tracy Martin. I'll be there getting some handouts from him. Last year Lee Parks was doing the static body position on the Buells. K | ||

FINALLY went for a ride today. With heavy work load, weather and all the other excuses finally in the background I finally got out of the garage. Did one of my typical "wherever the road takes me" journeys ( usually have to use the GPS to get home) I wound up on 32 around Clarksville. I got stuck behind a couple of pokey cagers for a few miles before I finally hit a "pass with care zone". I think I'd actually forgotten how quick the Uly can be, I signaled, downshifted and pulled left while giving it some healthy throttle. I pulled back in after a few seconds, but kept on the throttle, then figured I'd better back off a little. I checked the mirrors and I swear the headlights behind me ( it was just after dusk) were a quarter-mile behind me. Perma-grin. Hope to hit the IMS tomorrow if I don't get called in to work re: Haiti d  | ||

yeah i never got the chance to go to IMS, some family flew in and my parents want me to spend "quality time" with them. I did finally get my bike back from the shop on Friday so i went riding then and saturday just to get it out of my system. | ||

I never made it either, which is okay. I was really wanting to go to see the new Multistrada, but my Uly is now back in action, so I put the thought of a Ducati out of my mind. Hey Midnightrider...did you get out today (if you had the day off)? I keep thinking I'll see your Uly in Silver Spring. My bikes hadn't been started in two months thanks to the weather, holidays, work, and a honeymoon...they needed a couple days of recharging but the Uly got out today. I went northward from Silver Spring up Woodbine Road and zig-zagged my way to Westminster on Salem Bottom Road and on Nicodemus Road. Good stuff. I got "lost", but figured I'd run into something familiar...that was Westminster. I took 94 south to Georgia Avenue back home (with the winter sun dead in my face). GREAT day.      | ||

I went on Sunday you can tell the economy has taken a toll. BMW, Ural, and Moto Guzzi was not there neither was the neat MX team and the steel cage ball they ride in. Lee Parks was doing his thing and it was cool to see him. I ran into a couple of Buellers Lars and a friend and yes I will do my best to ride with you all this summer on the Sundays you meet. I totally pointed my nose to the ceiling at the HD site, and sorry to say I'm not buying anymore raffle tickets for folks raffling off Harleys as their big prize. | ||

Hey Hooper I've only ridden once since the last post. That was when I checked my belt tension and found I could spin the tension pulley by hand. From everything I'm told, when the belt gets that loose you're ripe for a failure. Checked with Al @ sportbike last week and their belts were backordered. Called Old Glory today and they said the nearest dealer with an in-stock belt is NJ. I'll have to order one Monday and cross my fingers. When I get it on I'll give you a shout Don | ||

Don, Being able to turn the tension puller by hand does not necessarily indicate belt wear. You should be alright unless the belt has cracks, is missing teeth or is skipping while accelerating. It doesn't hurt to have an extra belt though. | ||

Thanks Ras I did lots of searching and couldn't find a way of measuring the tension. Lots of folks have mentioned that the belt gets loose before it breaks, I just never checked it before so I have no baseline. The one thing folks have mentioned, though, is the spinning tensioner thing. Most of my commute is rush-hour beltway and the thought of a sudden power loss in that mess is terrifying | ||
