There's no work for me here so Friday I took a contract to work in Juneau, Alaska for 3 months. I fly out in 4 hours. Obviously I won't be racing till May. But it will get the $ to buy some parts, like the chain drive swingarm, race exhaust, Traxxion AK-20 cartridges, Catalyst top and bottom (my current setup isn't nearly as pretty or simple) and one of those GPS lap timers that Pete sells at Grand Stand Designs. All the parts together comes to about $5,600.

Once I realized that this job was going to happen I called Henry Duga to make sure my paper work was in order for this year so I can buy race parts. I asked about the race pipe. SOB it's going to be here in a few weeks and I'm going to be in isolation for 3 months!! You guys should call him if you race or call Pete at Grand Stand Designs for a pipe from Dris if you ride on the street. I saw the race pipe in action at Vegas a few weeks ago. Tough decision which one to get.

BTW I spent most of my life in Alaska so going there is no great shakes. We're adaptable. Lisa and I will be getting married 4/1 there on a Glacier. You're all invited but you gotta pay your own way. She'll visit every few weeks. I'm still trying to talk myself into believing this won't be so bad. It's amazing what we'll do for our adictions (racing Buells). Excuse me now, I need to go fondle my R before I have to leave.

Duggram,

Good luck! I feel your pain about leaving your two-wheeled baby. God willing and hopefully I'll be getting my shipped to me in a few weeks. Take care and stay warm.

Toby

Sounds like a great adventure, and one that'll pay off in this economy. Have fun and come back primed to race!
