Leave the TT seat rails on the bike, get the Uly taillight bridge, drill out the couple bosses that are cast in but not drilled on the TT tail, install the taillight bridge (with or without the handrails). Relocate the seat latch mechanism, install Uly seat. Done.

More to it than that. The Uly tail light has a different connector than the XB, and the the STT/Long wiring harness is different. I am currently running around without a break and blinkers for now.

I think that last little bend in the headers before they meet the muffler is a little secret very few of us XBers know about. That's the best thing about Froggy's blue bike picture.

Buells are the best.

Froggy - if you need Uly wiring specs, let me know and I can get 'em to you from the shop manual. No sense not having lighting back there....

I am pretty certain he means the other pic with the big dent in it.
I really hope my pipes turn Blue/purple as much as yours did. It's the main reason I am not set on getting them ceramic.

nice work froggy and thanks for the description hooper, but has any one mounted the saddlebags to a lightning or tt

it looks like you will also have to change the brackets for the pegs for the 5th and 6th mounting bolts

Jaybird, Crusty put the bags on his wifes Long. Problem is that Hepco and Becker dosen't make brackets for the SS/STT, only the short lightings. He modified the setup for the Lightning to get it to work.

Yes I need to put the Uly peg brackets on if I am going to use the OEM mounts, I already got the left side on, but they are not visible in that pictures above.
