I'm sitting at the airport in Denver waiting for a flight to Phoenix. This week is going to be in the mid 60's here in Denver...even hitting a record high of 70 degrees on Wednesday! Why couldn't it be 20 degrees and snowing the week work sends me to Phoenix?

I'm going to miss some great riding weather...but maybe I can meet some of you Buell guys for dinner one night this week. Just don't show up on your bike unless you bring an extra one for me to ride. : )

I wish I was going to Phoenix! I saw all the Cardinal fans in their "short sleeves" and it made me jealous! Well that and the fact they got Kurt Warner!! Go Cardinals!

nowhere to ride in phx?

Head out to the lakes, following the salt river for starters.
Ease out toward chandler and check out the cliff dwellings.
Black canyon.
Sedona.
Prescott is a short ride away.
I could go on and on.

If you're in Mesa, head out US 60 east go towards Globe. Awesome riding out in that area! I went through there in late October and the ride was incredible.

I'll second the Globe area. The road up to Mount Lemmon in Tuscon is a great days ride from PHX. Weekend traffic snarels it up some.

the reason i dont like riding out here is because i have to go a long way to ride on roads that i like and there is alway to much trafic out here.back home the riding is great the second i leave the house.theres to many cops out here to.i guess it doesnt help that i hate the city.

not much riding now in Wisconsin. Below zero temps and 2 feet of snow on the ground. You can have it. Wish I was in Phoenix instead of here.

Two important things.

  • Go the proper way on one way highways.
  • Order pie.

You'll have a great time, some fabulous roads and folks in the area.

Hey Bart,

Thanks for the post...but unfortunately I am heading back to the airport in an hour to fly home to Denver (just in time for the cold front)! I had every evening available this week so I was hoping to get together with some Buell guys here, but I guess that I should have posted my thread earlier, maybe last week, to give everyone more heads up. Maybe I'll be out here once more in the future...and we can try again.

It certainly IS a nice place to be this time of the year...
Some friends and I took a quick run up into the mountains today. I should have slowed down when I rolled thru this little town. : )

Dude, you look intense in the photo, the cop was probably afraid to give you a ticket!! Glad you just got a warning and yes, I'm jealous although all my bikes are in some sort of winter upgrade at the moment so I have nothing to ride right now. It's good to see somebodies having a good time!
