I have a newly-installed Quest GPS cradle on my Uly, and was wondering - does anyone make a cradle-cover? Just something to keep goop off it when parked (like yesterday, in the snow and ice) and keep the contacts as clean as possible. I know, they're gold plated...I still like to keep electrical stuff clean and dry. I've seen carry cases for the Quest...but nothing for the cradle yet. And I hate to use the standby purple Crown Royal bag, LOL. |

Leave the GPS on it. |

I do...except when it's parked unattended. Stickyfingers run rampant around here - if it ain't bolted down, it ain't there when you come back. *Especially* if it's pocket-sized, like a Quest II. |

If someone wanted to steal my Quest, they can keep it. The Zumo cradles have a rubber boot that magnetically attaches to the cradle, so when you remove the unit you can just flip the boot and cover the connector. I don't know why the Quest cradles don't have this. |

My Q2 logs my routes, and has the "route home" button for when I'm "out there" somewhere and the sun's going down. All I really need it for As for the boot...old tech on the Q2? <shrug> It was cheap and does what I want, lol. |

does anyone make a cradle-cover? ...........................o~'o Zip-Lock by SC Johnson. ~jammer .. helpful, sorta I've had mine on for over well over a year and lotsa wet miles. Occassional WD40 then a thin lube film over the contacts and locking pins and there is nothing to it. |

I use a beanie hat on mine when unattended. Out of sight out mind. Also cover can double as a head warmer.
