the casting on the XB wheels seem really rough. it would take alot to smooth it all out. I dont know what it would take. |

The 12 wheels are smooth though.Either way they get polished before the plating process anyhow. |

thats what I'm saying, they already seem so thin(the front one). its as rough as my swing arm was and I had to go down to 40grit to smooth it out to polish.. edited by misato on December 03, 2003 |

I seriously doubt the twelve wheels are any smoother......it's the powder coating that makes them look so. the origional casting is a bitch to clean so I had mine powder coated white now they look real smooth. I wouldn't want any thing to do with polishing a set of these......way to many hard to reach spots in the spokes front and rear. I have seen one of these wheels(rear) widened to 11" for a 280 tire though, so it just goes to show you, you can do just about anything if you so desire. |

Chroming will make your wheels weigh more. |

I have found that even if you get by the polishing hurdle, most platers don't like the fact that there are so many id. type surfaces of our wheels. You might want to try a place called xxxplating. It's not plating but it sure is close as hell, without the polishing. |
