I'm thinking about doing a little project, but I want to know what it's going to look like before I start sawing and hacking.

I searched and didn't find much, but what would a Uly look like with a lightning front fairing? Any photoshop gurus?

Lostinohio did a partial uly conversion on his SS, here is what it looks like and should give you a rough idea. Hell the second they make a hero blue uly fly screen, I’m putting it on my SS!

I do hope you know that the lightning screen is a lot smaller than the Uly one, you would loose the power outlet, windshield, need to get the different housings and a few other bits. : )

Im hoping to talk him into doing the swap out with my City X. It should be pretty straight forward. I pulled my Uly and City X apart today and they have the same mounting holes. I couldnt see any reason why it wouldnt work out.

chris is correct, it will be pretty much a bolt and unbolt afair, there is no plug for the accessory outlet on the city x. no biggy in my opinion. The tougher fit will be the lightning on the uly, Going from bigger to smaller.

I like the wind, believe it or not. The buffeting and blast are part of the experience for me.

Would you like a frontal shot of the bike?}

Hey lost,

Yeah a frontal shot would be cool. What sort of issues did you have mounting the lightning fairing on the Uly? I am assuming its just the "10 lbs of crap in a 5 lbs bag" so to speak."

The Uly seems to have a lot more crap to stuff behind the screen for some reason. It looks very do-able though.

Lost,

Do you still have the stock SS suspension? If so how much did the Uly foot peg position affect your lean angle.If you don't mind me asking how much did the seat/subframe, pegs/mounts conversion cost?

I got some of the parts off ebay and the rest from a bad web sponsor. with the bags bout 1500. bout 900 for just the rear clip.

I have never dragged my pegs or knee or anything. I still have half an inch of chicken strips on the tires.

Yes I have the stock SS suspension. With the wife on the back it isn't much fun. Needs to be a bit stiffer. Solo it is fine, It has never bottomed out even two up.
