I had a lot of thoughts about hang'n up the leathers after this season on my way home yesterday. I know a few racers. They're always talking about it being the last season. I don't know why this seems to be a shared theme. I do know none of them have quit. |

Its not just his passing... Its the time away from family and friends. Making the choice to race instead of going to Buelltoberfest or March Badness. The money. His passing just got me thinking that I need to see all you turd burglars...... I guess I will try to do the races at Homecoming next year and you can sport that pink thong and umbrella for me. |

Well I for one hope you don't quit. You've helped me to give it shot, and the progress that I've seen you make the few times I've seen you race have inspired me. The schedule is one of the things that appeals me. I dabbled in stock car racing several years ago, talk about expensive and time consuming! Tires were 800 bucks a set, and it was nothing to cut one or two down rubbin in a single night (long before they wore out!). The races were every single Saturday from late April til early September. Then you had to spend most evenings tinkering or making repairs. With Fasttrax they only race once a month or so, plenty of time to raise funds and do repairs between races and repairs. I know you were bummed about not having anyone to race with, but my guess is that at the rate you're going, they're gonna take your yellow number plates away from you soon and you'll have plenty of guys to chase around. |

Mark, You can't quit bro... Watching you go from track day junkie to racing is part of the reason I want to give it a go. I know it is going to be expensive, but I have a few things in the works that may help out... |

The wife made a statement last night that caught me off guard. "I think you should just race and not ride on the street" Then she backs it up with... "I think its safer" Never thought I would hear that one from her.... |

I think she's right about it being safer, but until I can race every other day, I'm going to keep riding on the street. |

there is no way i could give up riding on the street. yes it is probably safer on the track. but if you live your life in a bubble then you really aren't living at all. like mike said there no way i could get enough seat time riding only on the track. so if my time runs out at least i will go doing something i love. |

problem is street riding just ain't nearly as much fun as riding on the track, cars don't like being stuffed into corners |

As I was riding into work today I was think how cool it would be to slap some numbers on the Uly.... race the 3 Hour Iron Butt... Then I read how good Shawn Higbee did at Willow on the 1125R... I want one... All I want to do is ride... race... repeat... http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/158 664/397624.html?1222148275 |

When you run the Iron Butt you have mandatory 10 minute breaks you must take every hour. It shouldn't be a prob. but thanks for thinking about it. I am going to get a pit board with the hope to keep track of the other Iron Butt racers while I'm on the track. If you can talk to the peeps running the transponder stuff during the race and then come to the pit wall with the sign... + 3 laps.... I'm kicking A$$ - 2 laps.... I better get it in gear... You could also right lap times every so often... gives you and me something to do... |
