Haha, Sly's space bar isn't working.

Sly here's a geek solution for you. Hold the alt key down and type "032" on the numeric key pad. Entering ALT-032 is the the ASCII code for the "space" character.

FYI - You have to have the num-lock on and you have to use the numeric key pad for this to work.

There's all Kinds of cool characters in your computer you didn't know you had. For example ALT-232 gives you this "Φ".

I would ALWAYS go Sport Touring over the double bubble type screen. Gives you BETTER streamlining. Ever since I saw the Hals racing bikes with the sport touring screens, it just made sense.

Yeah, if your goal is looking good in a photo with a riderless bike then by all means, get the double bubble but if your goal is rider comfort AND reduced drag then get the sport touring.

<edit> - oops - just realized we're talking 1125R. No telling if they'll do anything other than stock profile. Looking at the fairing itself, it's not really apparent that the "sport touring" profile will easily work. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

The double Bubble mimicks the stock windscreen more so that the ST version. I am wondering how much either windscreen will mess with the excellent "Quiet Zone"?

That's the $79 question! Not that I'm tucked into the QZ all the time but, I was wondering how high it would raise the wind on my chest when I'm sitting up?

I wouldn't dismiss the stocker so quickly. IMO, there has been alot of testing to achieve the QZ--and it is pretty much universally praised by all.

I doubt that ZG will invest the same amount of resources or time. that being said, I obviously don't know how the the ZG R&D approaches its projects.

I sent an e-mail to Partmonster warning them of some of the concerns we had with their listing. This is their reply. Sound like a reasonable explanation to me.

Hi Neil,

Thank you for the warning. We listed the windscreens in our eBay store based on our 2008 dealer list directly from Zero Gravity. All information we have provided is based on our contact with Zero Gravity. Because of many questions from 1125R owners, we have investigated further and have found out the person whom we were in contact with was incorrect in what they told us. Subsequently we have ended all listings pertaining to the 1125R application. Once Zero Gravity has them in stock, we will then re-list them.

In no way has Part Monster been misleading on any of our auctions, it has ultimately been a case of incorrect information with Zero Gravity and has been rectified.

If there is anything we can do for you, please let us know.
Thank you,

Part Monster Inc.

Looks like the vendor got some mis-info from ZG. Glad to see the vendor was on the up and up.

I was supposed to get it to them this week, but it has been at the dealer for the past week due to the burned legs issue. That should be done this week and on my days off next week the bike will be in there for them to play with.

That stinks being without the 1125R for your days off. Thanks for taking one for the team.

The miracle of the quite zone is most likely shear size. It's by far the largest top fairing of any "sport bike" ever made.

Zero Gravity takes that size just one step further. I'm confident it will make the quite zone bigger as advertised.

What is the dealer doing regarding the hot frame issue?

apparently the flash for the MY09 is supposed to fix the problem, they're also putting on the insulation kit they use for the race bikes on the inside of the frame.

Hmmmm. the '09 reflash is available to us '08 owners now? Also, what is this insulation kit you speak of? Warranty work or did you have to pony up for that yourself?}

they used some heat reflecting tape on the XXBRR and it sounds like that's the stuff they are putting on the inside of the frame on the 09's. My dealership has offered to get the insulation for free, don't know about installation cost..you have to rotate the engine to do it.

I gotta hand it to Glendale Harley. Those guys have never done me wrong, in fact, they have always taken GREAT care of me and my bikes. They are big time Buell guys and really take care of their customers. They are the only dealership I will go to because of that.

Keep us posted...I think lots of people will be interested in how effective the heat reflecting tape is. And cost if you can get that info...

I had Augusta Harley-Davidson drop my engine and put the Aluminized heat barrier all over the inside of the frame and wrap my headers. Helps a little except when the AT is over 95 degrees.

And the Guys at Glendale Harley Rock my Buell Garmin quest mount had a charging pin break and they had one in stock and were able to Warranty it for me before having to leave California. Back in El Paso, After riding all night.

Can't wait to see this new ZG wind screen and ride my bike next may after it comes out during my mid tour. I've could've used a bigger bubble last night on my 817 mile ride.

Toby
