as i'm doing practice to lower my lap-time i noticed a strange rear tire consuming like pieces of rubber braking away from the tire. my guess was to much heavy rear spring so i changed for a 20 kgs softer . the next practice day the bike did the same.... maybe less air-pressure needed....???? another point : during one "fast" lap my engine turned off , like gasoline finished but the tank was half/full. when at home i connected to the pc to see the ecmspy diagnostic but no failures were indicated in the errors list and history.anyway when i was waiting to be rescued i tried to turn on the bike and it worked fine until the end of the sessions day last question : is it possible that on track spark plugs color is whiter, when checked, respect the normal street use ? i ask you this because i'm sure to run a little beat rich to keep the engine cooler and i can see this from the fan ( it does'nt works a lot) from the overtemp. light that never turned on ....but when yesterday i had a look to the spark plugs they were white on the electrod and black at the base ( i used screaming eagle snake tong electrod), now i changed to ngk again . any help or comment will be appreciated i'll give you some pics of those days. bye Alessio

Tires could be "cold tearing". Also, the tire reps here in the states say check tire pressure when they're HOT and keep them on the warmers for 1&1/2 hours before going out. That's directly from the Pirelli rep. |

Your tires should be on the warmers until the rim is warm to the touch. The engine turning off can happen during a hard braking situation. The fuel shifts forward in the frame and momentarily starves the fuel pump causing the stutter. I had it happen to me twice into turn one at Road America. Schmitty |
