I'm thinking of making up some alternate bags, from 20mm ammo cans. Easiest way (that I can think of) would be to affix the mounting puck/latch from a stock bag to a 20mm can. Anybody have some crashed bags I can experiment with? Or, anyone thought of an easier way?

You could also possibly use the ALS DIY Luggage Attach Kit for Givi Racks from Caribou Cases:

Yes, I have a great set of bags. Will send the pictures tonight to you. I just changed mine out for the trip to Homecoming. The left side bag has a shallow scrape patch about the side of your hand (barely noticeable) and the right bag has a deeper scrape from laying it down at about 20 mph, size of two hands. Both are in good functional condition. I used them since January in the condition with no problems. I just changed them out due to the aesthetics . The top bag is without damage.

I have all the keys and original mounting brackets (still in plastic).PM sent. Let me know what you think of the photos.

I have a crashed left bag (f'ing deer!), which I thought would be nice because I thought I could unscrew the hold-the-bag-open-cables after I accidentally let them snap by opening the box with something heavy in the lid. SNAP! DAMN! So, I thought I could cannibalize my old bag, but no - they are riveted, not screwed.

So, I use utility wire, which should last longer than the original cable.

Anyway, I'm going to keep that bag. It's so grinded away, like my old Olympia coat, that I need to keep it in my line of sight to remind me about how lucky I was when I hit that damn deer, and why I survived the crash, and why I didn't need to tell anyone about the incident except my girlfriend and best friend (no WAY would I tell my parents!).

Sorry for the digression...it's important...
