OK boys and girls. We are getting near the Redwood Run / SoCal Uly meetup. The tentative plan is to leave the LA area on the 11th. As I recall there may be someone coming up from San Diego area and we will be picking up others along the way.

If you don't have tickets to the event yet it may be too late. If so, we would love to have some company along the way. In particular on the way back we would love some local tours of the roads. I will be leading anyone coming to LA over Angeles Crest (Newcombs Ranch), Mulholland Dr. (Rock Store), etc.

Everyone is invited to join us on the route up and back. We will be taking the PCH up to Humboldt, and the return route is dependent on our detours. I have been pretty busy with work, but I working on getting a Google Earth map put together.

The return dates will be probably the 15th - 18th.

I just ordered new tires and am itching to get on some new roads. ; )

Sweet! The 20 looks like a lot of fun. What is your schedule like on / around those dates? Could you lead us down some of the roads?

Pick up a "Mad Map" of northern California from your local bike shop, they do a pretty good job laying out fun routes. Some of my favorites are: Skaggs springs road between Healdsburg and the coast (watch out for CHP by lake Sonoma), up hwy 1 to Mountian view rd to Hwy 128 over to Cloverdale, up 101 to hwy 20 between Willits and Fort Bragg and the best is Hwy 1 above Fort Bragg over to 101. You can just traverse back and forth as you head north.
Hwy 36 between Fortuna and hwy 5 is a real gas but then you have a long trip down 5 before you can cut back over on hwy 20 to the coast again.
