I grow weary of my lean surge. But I don't have a windoze laptop. Rather than drag my giant windoze XP tower to the garage, I'm wondering if I'm the only person on the planet who could use a Mac version of the EMCSpy? I peeped their site up and down and didn't see anything about source code (except for the Palm OS version) or about how to contact the authors.

Is anyone here in contact with the EMCSpy authors? Or have an alternative suggestion (that does not involve running M$ windows or bribing a dealer tech to richen up the mixture)

Thanks!
I did search and found nothing:

your search - EMC mac site:www.badweatherbikers.com - did not match any documents.

if u have an intel based mac you can run windoze no prob with boot camp. or you can install virtualpc for the ppc based mac and run windoze under software emulation (slowww)....

i use vpc.... it gets me by when i need it.

Don't know a thing about Mac compatibility, but the problem with your search is the program is ECMspy, not EMCspy.

Electronic Control Module? d'oh! Thanks for the correction Hue!

Spacecapsule,
I do have an intel based mac, but to use boot camp I'd still need to somehow require a copy of a windows OS right? I may have to resort to that, and it would probably be the simplest solution... thanks

Im not sure how it works with boot camp. If you go to the apple/support/discussions website, you can find out what you need to do....if you do need winblows, you can grab a copy from ebay for cheap

Boot camp lets the computer boot into one OS or another. So from Mac OSX to Window. I bought xp because I do not want to deal with windows let alone vista.

Fusion is the way to go if you are a Mac guy. You will need a copy of Windows to install, but you will be ready to run other programs if they aren't Mac friendly either. I've heard people are much happier with Fusion than Bootcamp. One of my good friends tried both and said Fusion was unbelievably easier to work with and more stable too.

Yeah, thanks Jim. I was unaware of Fusion. It is a VMWare product. VMWare has been pretty good to me on windows so I'd be willing to give them a chance on my Mac, but yikes $60! (with rebate) Hmmm... that is $20 less than Parallels but $60 more than Bootcamp.

Ugh.

Perhaps I'll just live with my spluttering at low RPM and call it "character".

Very cool, I too was unaware of Fusion!

You know, for a non-Buell riding lurker that Jmhinkle guy sure seems like a real decent guy!

Thanks once again Joel. Your input on this board is always valuable and we surely appreciate it.

Doesn't matter what you ride to me. As long as you ride, you're a friend in my eyes. I'll also lend anyone a hand until they prove they aren't worth it.

By the way, I work at Intel and once Mac changed to Intel Inside I had to learn more about them and crossover software to help friends out with their systems. My understanding and 2nd hand knowledge is that no matter the price, Fusion is the only way to go.
