Thanks again to all that gave me advice. Got there early, was in line by 4:30. The place got MOBBED with people and the guy allowing people out of the lanes was less than freindly to the bikes. There were cars that I saw go thru 3 times before they let us get our first run. After 6:30pm, the place was just packed. I didn't get my second run till 8:30, then I had to leave (work night, and my pit crew had school the next day) 12.9 on my first run (completely flubbed the start) 12.3 on the second (still flubbed, but better than first) Overall, an interesting experience, but I don't think I'll go back. I'll stick to trackdays, higher adrenalin payback. |

higher adrenalin payback. No doubt, glad you had fun though. Of course you can pump up the adrenaline at the dragstrip by; going to a less crowded track and getting more runs bringing friends to race lining up against bikes/riders you think you can beat entering a bracket race (especially if it pays to win!) buying/building a quicker bike up here at New England Dragway, they like the bikes and you can usually get at least 6 runs in, sometimes 12 and I've had as many as 18! Oh, and didn't I call a mid 12? Give us some of the rest of the numbers: reaction time? 60'? 1/8 mile et/mph? 1/4 mile mph?

Friday nights are fun as that is when there is typically the most bikes, cars and girls. Wednesday night you get the most runs as there are the fewest number of bikes and cars (and girls). Best performance is Saturday or Sunday (in June or October especially) when the cars with slicks put down some rubber, the track is warm and the air is warm but not hot. They run "test and tune" on the weekend and have many "Streetfighter" motorcycle bracket races. If they are having a Streetfighter I would recommend entering it because even if you go out early you will get more passes, before, during and after the race, for the same $$ and it is more exciting (especially if you make it past the 1st round!). So if any of you can make it for a Friday night - great! if not come up Sat. or Sun. or even come up the night before and "camp" at my place or the campground around the corner. That way we can get to the track early without getting up early. |

I've been waiting for the road course in Englishtown to open for like two years. It looks rideable, anyone know when that will be open to the public? |

a better light and a front end strap and you could take him to 60'..... he should be ashamed of a 1.82 on a prepped bike (not to mention the .177RT). That's why I drift in line so I can find a victim for myself. I recommend bracket racing - it is not easy, you usually beat yourself and anything can race anything. Jim no kids next weekend, let's watch the weather. |
