What about just using the High Beam Flasher switch? As I suggested earlier, seems like it would be much simpler and it's already there! Maybe you guys use yours, I don't, as I have a Kisan PathBlazer hooked up to my High beam so it makes the flasher switch redundant. . |

08uly, that is a good idea, sorry i didn't respond to it earlier. i rarely use that switch either. i suppose the PathBlazer will not work with HIDs? |

08Uly...it is a good idea. And I don't (or haven't yet) used the flash-to-pass switch. But for me, it's simply about the fun of finding a proper solution and doing what Buell should have done in the design phase. Then again, if Buell had simply designed an instrument cluster with a separate clock and odometer, that REALLY would have been the proper solution. Obviously we all like playing with our toys. I don't get to wrench nearly as much as I'd like to because I don't have a garage of my own. Heck, I'd really like to build one of these, but since that ain't happening in an apartment in NYC, I'll have to satisfy my creative outlet on a smaller scale. I know people have suggested velcroing (is that a word?) a watch to the handlebars or simply dealing with the situation as it is, but I'm in it for the fun of doing the modification. EDIT: I just realized I ordered an Autoswitch two days ago for the Piaa 510's that will be triggered by the falsh-to-pass switch. All the more reason to go Guzzi! Tipsy Obviously we all like playing with out toys I hear ya. Tinkering time seems to give way to riding time of late .... now that it is sooo nice out. If you're considering additional switches.. lemme stir the pot a little. My ex-bike was an ST1100 and an available part for it was a 'police switch' that replaces the right hand control blob as many STs were in service with PDs. A couple of links part number: 35150-MZ9-900 Available here: http://www.casporttouring.com/store/merchant.mvc?p age=CST/PROD/st1100_Hand-Cont/HON-ST1100PSW Some info http://illzoni.com/bikes/farkles/police_switch.htm http://www.vsource.org/VFR-RVF_files/BPoliceswitch es.htm I'll stop chumming the waters now... heck my grip heaters are still sitting in a box... now that it is practically summer! |

I'm in for a farkle fix for this. I use my high beam flash, so thats out for me. My softail has a water proof pushbutton on the side of the console to control the odo on it. It is pretty compact and may fit in the left grip. |

Please post a how to if you do this mod. I will use the high beam flasher as I do not use it. I use one of my trip 2 as my fuel gauge so have to flash to it often. Put a black zip tie on the clutch cable day 1. |

Saw this switch in Radio Shack today (275-644). I haven't had the left side control apart yet to see how much space is available, but this is a pretty small switch. The only thing is that it doesn't have a rubber boot. Tipsy |
