I hard wired the Zumo to the battery+ and grounded on the frame and battery and found no difference with the noise. I have the Autocom plugged into the rear accessory outlet. Anyone else running this setup having this problem? Any suggestions?   Routney Posted on Monday, April 21, 2008 - 09:09 pm:        sure, it's due to the common ground. If one or the other was battery (not bike) powered, you'd notice the noise going away. Zumo 550, autocom easy plus. The isolated cable stopped the engine noise. $59.00 seemed a little steep for a cable, but it fixed the problem.   Chrisgrant Posted on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 - 07:45 am:        I'm using the 1314 wire and still have the noise. It must be the Autocom itself instead of the Zumo. Common ground? So I should try hard wiring the Autocom and grounding it to the battery negative and a switched +12VDC? Right now I have it on a cigarette lighter plug and just plug it in when I want to use it.   Littlefield Posted on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 - 10:01 am:        I was looking at Autocom stuff a while back and the there were several comments about the need to put a filter on the power into the unit to eliminate noise. I am using the Autocom part #1299 for using a BT phone through the zumo...but the real difference came after I had to have my Stator replaced. I have the same problem with my Starcom unit. It drove me crazy. I've gone to not trying to charge my iPod and phone while riding. That has fixed the problem, but kind of stinks on long ride when it's helpful to charge the phone and iPod. Wayne
