If you are, I'd like to work a trade - drummer-ize my 06 muffler and let me have your 08 : )

My S1W is obnoxious (and I love it!) with the un-packed SS2R "muffler"; my S2 is liveable with the Buell race can. I like my 06 Uly quiet...but I *really* like the sound of the new '08 muffler (and yes, it's a different part number).

I'd love to work a deal with someone where you send me your '08 can; I will send my '06 can to Kevin (currently the bike only has 900 miles - I just got it as a leftover) for you and he can modify it and send it back to you.

PM me if you're interested : )

Any links to info on the new part? Any other changes other than sound?

I guess I'd have to hear an '06 and an '08 next to one another to be impressed with the sound of the '08. So far, I only here the valve noise on top of the engine with the stock '08 can.

I think I'd prefer the Drummer but would like to keep my stock '08 can just in case.

The 08 has a slightly sharper tone than the 06; the 06 is...well, super quiet while the 08 has just a bit of chop to it. No major volume differences though.

The part numbers supercede so the '08 is listed as a replacement for the earlier ones. I'd suspect not much changed other than a slight tone adjustment.

I've put my name on the list for a stainless drummer but I'm keeping my stock can just in case the drummer gets too noisey for the constabulary. For the most part, all I hear now is the intake honk and the wind. I always wear earplugs for the wind noise but I want some more low end grunt and some sportster motor music.
