again Dana give me a call. For those who want to know I am trying to find out how many checks have been recived and to give a good estimate to Blastin for the breakfast wendsday. As for Uke's having a crowd issue I am guessing you haven't seen their new shop.

Checks? For Wednesday? I remember sending Dennis/Lake an early assumption of attendance for the ride to E.T. several months ago. Were we supposed to update our attendance info lately? Just asking for any lurkers who may be reading this (assuming they got past the cow pic).

Honestly, there are no cow patties in Hal's parking lot.

I'm with mikej, checks for Wednesday ??

I didn't know we ever took an attendance list for the ride to East Troy on Wednesday ?? Maybe someone should start a new attendance thread ?? Heck we've got 54 other threads pertaining to the 20th!! :)

If your counting dinner checks about 4 have been turned into Brew City BRAG directly, by passing Dennis, but he is aware of it as I e-mailed him the info.

I have been to Uke's new shop, it's Awesome, so I wasn't suggesting that they would have a crowd issue, just expressing surprise that you and/or Dana suggested that Hal's did !!!

Early on Dennis asked for feedback on who was going to attend, and which aspects/events they were going to attend. I believe it was broken down into:
1. attending the ride?
2. wanting to tour the Buell factory?
3. Attending the Thursday night dinner?
4. Participating in BattleTrax?
5. Wanting a countryside tour of sorts?
At least that's the gist of what I recall about his early survey. Beyond that it's been scattergun city, here a post, there a post, everywhere a post post. :)

Let me fix Spidey's post with the sentences broken up.

again Dana give me a call. For those who want to know I am trying to find out how many checks have been recivedfor the dinner.(end of sentence) I would also like to give a good estimate to Blastin for the breakfast wendsday.(Brew City needs to figure out food for breakfast) As for Uke's having a crowd issue I am guessing you haven't seen their new shop.

OK seeing as everyone wants to know what I need to talk to Dana about.
1 Blastin e-mailed me asking how many people did I think would show up on Wend
2 I then Posted to DANA to have him call me to see how many checks were recieved for the dinner on Thursday to give Blastin a good idea about Wendsday.

Notice I said Crowdage not crowding Never said that Hal's would have a crowd issue just trying to get some simple info to Blastin

I don't care what you're talking with Dana about, I just want to know what's going on with the events so I know where to go. (Ummm, I may be leaving myself wide open for a comeback with that one.)

I think I'll go to lunch now, as opposed to going elsewhere. ;)
Sure hope that girl didn't slip pushing that cow around, otherwise she may be needing to clean her ears out a bit.

Who would have thought a teeny, tiny word like crowdage could cause such controversy !! Good job clearing that up blastin !! More brownie points for you !

Note to self: Do NOT follow mikej's lead, will get you into trouble !!

But hey at least he and I are "everybody", course we only succeded (sp?) in annoying another poor soul !! There might not be cow patties in Hal's parking lot, but must be here cause we just stepped in it !!! LOL

I never mean to be difficult, I'm just damn good at it I guess !! I need a vacation !!!!!!!!!!!

Aww shucks, now I've been known to lead some people down some mighty interesting pathways in the past. Of course there were a few that became a bit too interesting as well. Probably why I tend to either ride way back in the pack or ride solo a lot. ;)

I hear ya Mike, this is the first I have heard of any wednesday breakfast deal.

As far as "crowdage goes", the question has been asked many many times so far as to the number of folks who supposedly are going on this short lil ride to east Troy & the numbers keep coming up around 50-60 or so. Thats counting the folks from Hals, Ukes....other than Dana nobody from there has said so much as Boo about it...Dave & maybe the couple who come with him, spidey & whomever, etc.

Spidey...as far as Ukes & crowdage..everyone here has seen the new building & the front parking lot can get very crowded because its not huge. Theback lot where the riders edge course is held is a decent size tho. Course if there is a class going on it wont matter one damn bit anyways.

If people arent kept in the loop & appraised of the situation & goings on, how the hell can they plan anything?

My own personal feelings on a breakfast deal are...

#1. Pick a restaurant in the area & have folks meet there for a bite to eat. Lots to choose from.

#2. Have a couple boxes of donuts in the parking lot & let the riders graze on them.

I dont think it needs to be turned into a big theatrical production when you dont even have a definate number of folks who are coming, planning in coming, coming to the ride but not the dinner, coming to the dinner but not the ride, coming for Donuts & then going home:D

You plan a breakfast for 60 people & if more show up you are screwed & if less show up you just blew a bunch of $$$ for no reason.

Post here saying breakfast at IHOP at 7 am. See how many will go, give IHOP a call & let them know. There ya go, breakfast deal is done real ez style.

PS...dont anyone get their undies in a bunch now, but why does everything have to be so anal & HOG micromanaged? With HOG rides they like to plan & preride & cross all their t's & dot the I's. It makes for a boring ride & its frustrating as hell to deal with all the micromanaged shit. Why not simply say "show up at 10 & lets ride"? I can understand the dinner planning because obviously you dont want to show up & totally overwhelm the restaurant.

Seems like we are real good about planning out food...dinner/breakfast/etc. But what about actual rides? Folks are coming here from Newfoundland, The Republik of Kalifornia, Michigan, etc & we give them nothing but food. Hows about a Kettle ride, or a tour of S&S. I have seen several postings of basically "on your own rides".

Everyone knows about the ride to East troy..but what about after that? Is everyone going to stand around in the parking lot picking their noses & looking at each other saying "ok, what do we do now"?

Doesnt have to be a micromanged ride, but someone who knows the good local roads or even just a nice destination with no so good roads to get there, could just go on a "fugawee" ride.

I dont know the roads in the kettle area or I would volunteer. Even doing a dealership run could be fun. You have all day wednesday & thursday to do it. Just go & hit as many area dealerships as you can. Its a fun ride & gives the paricipants something to talk about & maybe even buy a few goodies.

"fugawee"?????

I'll be heading down from the Thiensville area if anyone wants to meet up at Suburban for the ride to Hal's. Could easily become an indirect route meandering out over Hogsback Rd., down through part of the Holy Hill area, down hwy-K past Sussex to Hartland, zipping over to Nashota, down through the Ocononomowoc Lakes roadways, and zipping the frontage roads into Brookfield to Hal's, would add less than an hour to the ride to Hal's from Suburban.

For the ride back I'd just meander westward slightly and then wander aimlessly northward without any definite route in mind. Once at I-94 one could split off westward on hwy-18 or I-94 or hwy-16/-19 towards Madison or Pine Bluff or Viola, or head eastward into downtown Milwaukee, or head northeastward towards Elkhart Lake and RoadAmerica. This would only depend on each riders own desires on where they want to go, how long they want to take to get there, and what they want to do before, during, or after.

My pace varies depending on where I'm at, how I'm feeling, what the traffic and bluelight counts are like, and so forth. The weather and the group composition factors in there as well. Basically, do what you want to do and follow or pass if you want to.

Just some pre-event thoughts to mull over, along the lines of what Dyna posted. ;)

"fugawee"?????

Ya..those are great rides. You just head out with no plans & end up where you end up. Sometimes you have to stop & folks will ask you? where the fuck are we?..Thats called a fugawee ride..say it slow:D

I hear ya Mike, this is the first I have heard of any wednesday breakfast deal.

Brew City BRAG club is taking care of getting breakfast to Hal's serving from 9:00 to 10:30 before the ride to East Troy, donuts, fruit, coffee etc. (click on Buell 20th Event Info at top of this thread) Where is a secretary to post stuff when you need it ?? LOL

If any members who haven't been to the last meeting would like to volunteer to help out, just give Jerry (Blastin), or Gerry (Mr. Director), or Rick a holler.

I know help will be appreciated !!

And who would be interested in a real breakfast that morning? Meet up around 7 or so, eat & BS, go for a little ride around the block & then head for Hals?

When I left for work this morning, Everything seemed pretty much arranged. Tonight, I come home and there was all kinds of turmoil in my absence. Now, everything's cool again.
BTW Dyna, you mentioned people coming from Newfoundland, Michigan and Kalifornia, but you neglected to mention Taxachusetts. Wassamatta, don't we count? Aren't we far enough away to mention? Hell, I have to put a thousand miles under my ass to get to Michigan, and it's on the way there! Show a little respect!
As far as rides, So long as Dana has the route to Tattoo Pete's place for Thursday morning, I'll be happy.(After living in New England, I know there aren't too many good curvy roads in Wisconsin)

As like I said earlier on this thread I was going to have everyone at my house the 19th.But I think my brothers bar which is still close to the hotel and I get a good deal on brew would be better place. It's a real nice place with a out door patio so we can also sit outside. And then the mess isn't my problem till the morning, yes I take care of the joint.I can also have a couple sheet pizza's brought in from Infusino's pizza if I can get a few people pitch in $27.00 a sheet and there big.I'll pay for the beer but I can't afford to feed a bunch of hungry BUELLER's,let me know guy's and gal's.
