I'm wondering if this is something I need on my bike?

I have no idea what it would actually do or even if it's needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks y'all!!

The SRP (Shock Reinforcement Package) Kit is for 2000 MY bikes with the first generation (long) Showa shock. If you have the 2nd generation (short) Showa shock, you are good to go - it's not needed and it won't fit.
