One brand spankin' new 2007 service manual. Yay! It's one helluva book. If anyone ever needs some pages scanned, don't hesitate to ask. I would surely send you a .pdf for the section you need.

I feel the same way. My concern is all of the HD specialty tools required for a lot of the work.

You should check and compare torque specs with the older manuals to see if they have been corrected. Several errors have caused stripped thread problems.

About the only time I'd use torque specs on the outside of the bike is when there are 2-stage specs (back axle and steering head bearings). Oil plugs and the like and you are just asking for trouble. Hard steel into soft aluminum spells disaster. Hand tighten and then just a bit more with a wrench.

2nd that, within reason.

Been using the tq spec on my zx10, haven't changed crush washer yet.

Last change I was going for the tq spec, waitng for wrench to click and it wouldn't.

Did not feel like I should tighten more, rechecked setting on wrench and it was correct.

Decided to leave well enough alone, it was tight enough.

I always use some yamabond on the bolt too.
