I back my bikes up by hand all the time now. The Harley guys will look at you funny, but once you own the Uly... you won't care one bit about how they look at you! |

It's hard to see the Harley guys laughing at you over your swollen permagrin cheeks. |

Flat foot a Uly? Flat foot shmat foot. At 5'6", sometimes I have to incite an angry mob, just so they can pick me up on their shoulders and place me upon my Uly; the pic posted by Ft_B sort of conveys the general idea. If I need to move the bike backwards, I'll just hop off, and use the grab-bars. It's pretty easy. Riding the bike is a pure joy. |

Jason, where the heck have you been? I was starting to worry one of those north GA deliverance people had made an honest woman of you. |

OK, I tried to figure out how to quote from messages, but either you can't or I am to dumb to figure it out. I am tired, maybe that is part of the problem. Anyway, I wanted to respond to many of the things you guys have said. First, I believe my Dyna is a great bike. Not perfect, but then I don't think any bike is. My FXDX came with almost no chrome, unlike many Harleys. I have added some, but it is still not the chrome rides many have. Not that I don't like chrome, I just have spent most of my money on comfort instead of looks. I have added a pic of my bike in my profile in case anyone is curious. Still, as much as I like my FXDX, the Uly has me very curious. I plan to test ride one at Brandon HD hopefully this weekend, if the dealership isn't packed like last time. I will also have to ride up to the Ocala dealership as well. It gives me a nice excuse for a decent ride. As far as the Dragon run, I am not sure exactly what day I will be there yet, but we are leaving Florida on September 27 and returning on August 3. We will be spending the time in between riding all around the area and one of the days will be at the Dragon. I am going with at least two other guys, more are invited, but I know some will back out before we leave. The two I know are coming both ride cruisers, so I know we won't be able to keep up with the Ulys on the curves, but I would love to meet and ride with as many of you as possible. I'd love to see your bikes as well. So, when it gets a bit closer I will post here our plans. I said I would PM some folks, but I am afraid I will leave someone out, so I'll probably just post here and the C3 board. And I agree with Adrian who says I need both. If the bank account allowed it I would definitely keep the Dyna and add the Uly. If I found I wasn't riding one of them I could sell it later. That's how I got my Dyna. The guy I bought it from bought a Road King and never rode the Dyna anymore. I am really glad he liked the Road King so I could get the Dyna. So, I hope to see some of you in August or September. Or both. I mean you could ride with us any day we are there, not just the day at the Dragon. I'll let you all know when and where we'll be. BTW, let us know where the best BBQ places are. I can do some damage to some good BBQ. Dan |

how to quote from messages cut and paste - can change color (just above text box) prior to pasting to show comment(s) being addressed. Then you can change it back to black for your own comments. Hope you get in a good demo this weekend. We just did 185 mile ride yesterday and it was great. We had 3 Uly's, two of which were 2-up.

Not to sidetrack this thread, but In the last month, I: A) was touring markets and bazaars of the Middle East while being carried on the shoulders of moderately angry, bearded men. [must see Ft_B's earlier posted pic to find the humor in this] B) quit my job, and headed West for a long overdue vacation. And, while sitting in a remote mountain pass, I realized this was a very poor way to find a new job, and decided to come back to civilization. C) was stuck at work writing-up yet another boring report that nobody is ever going to read. D) was banned from the internet because my wife thought I was spending too much time on BadWeb and AdvRider. E) was busy filming some demo rides on the new 1125R over at Barber Motorsports Park. F) all of the above G) none of the above H) some of the above -jason And Dynasport, have fun on the test ride. You'll either love or hate the bike. The Uly eschews indifference. |

Dyna, You might want to try Lakeland HD Buell. I have been there several times in the past few years and have found gloves and shirts that no one else stocked and they always have a good stock of Buells right up front. I also got on their mailing list and they have rides out of there all of the time. Oh, and as a side note. Buell motorcycles can be ridden at the same speeds as other bikes. There seems to be this misconception about cruisers and such not wanting to ride with Buells because they can't keep up. The Uly is such a fun bike to ride that you don't have to be dragging a knee to enjoy the ride. Just let them go first so they don't get lonely. It is true that it corners so well that as you get used to it you will inadvertently be smoking your buddies with out realizing it until you are riding alone. That is what rest areas and pull-offs are for.....HD waiting areas. You will be waiting with permagrin and they will be cruising in busting a sweat, so remember to let them rest a little before pulling back out. |

Either ask for the manager (Mike Rendine) or Toby, and request a demo for Saturday morning (or whenever you want). They'll be more than happy to help you out. |

The last time I tried they were having a bikini bike was and it seemed everyone in the Tampa area with a Harley was up there. I asked for a test ride but they said they were so busy it would be a while. It seemed kinda wierd to me with guys my age and older oggling the girls barely older than my daughter while they washed the bikes. They did look good though. Now I feel like a dirty old man though. Dynasport. If I can help in anyway let me know. I called ahead on a Saturday. Spoke with Toby. He invited me down. I got there, and had to wait a little bit because they were queuing up some other customers to ride with us. I went there with no intention of buying, and walked out with a Uly. I have had similar experiences as you over there with their preoccupations of things non-business related. And apparently they used to put something in their coffee that allows them to determine a buyer just by looking at him. They'd never wait on you or anything when you were in there. Now...I see a ten foot rule in place. If an employee is within' ten foot of a non-employee, speak with them. Mike...the Sales Manager is a cool guy, and is motivated to move some Buells. I've had them install a Drummer muffler, and did the Direct Link on their Dyno, I have had nothing but top notch treatment after the sale. Bruce and J.J. in service have been awesome. |

Dynasport, FYI: I purchased my Uly in Oct 05. I also have an FXDX. I was looking over my service records and realized I had only put 300 miles on the FXDX in just over 18 months since buying the Uly. I just sold my FXDX. My riding buddies think I'm crazy but I have no problem riding the Uly with them. I thought it would kill me to give up the Harley, the pain goes away slowly. All you need to do is throw the leg over the Uly and the smile comes back! |
