The main suspect has been Mobil-1 75W-90 gear oil, which by the way Mobil does NOT recommend for this application. I'd also stay away from other gear oils with similar additives. AFAIK, no motor oil made by anyone has ever been accused of causing the stator problems.   Michael1 Posted on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 - 11:26 am:        I'm running Amsoil 20W50 Full Synthetic in the Uly. I've been running it now for 3k miles and noticed the fan runs less now in the heat. Other than that, it's about the same. I pay $7 a quart vs $4 for HD Dyno oil. So I'll stick with the Amsoil for now.
