Has anybody tried polishing there swing arm and seat perch? The look like brushed aluminum which would be easy to get very shinny....is it....thinking of doing this but wondering if there is some advice to save time and money. |

I am assuming you are talking about an X-1 and lots of folks have done swingarm, fewer the tail, but it has been done. You need to use wet and dry sandpaper in grits from about 320to 400 to 600 then 1000, then polish with buffing wheel and buffing compound. Tail section will take more to smooth out. The smoother you make it the better the polish. |

I have done the Swing arm on my M2. I have also seen the X1 tail sections done. It's not to bad to do. Get a manual and remove the swing arm. Sand it down and use a polishing compound to make it pretty. |

Any pics of what it would look like on a flat black bike with polished rims and polished swing arm and tail....someone has to have done this...I'm white and red now but the paint needs too be touched up or replaced in the next few years and like most shiner the better...plus chics dig shinny bikes |

I`m with tom b-who needs the hassle. But,has anybody tried masking off the central section, most visable, with the swingarm in place and the bike on a platform stand and sanding/polishing away.Too Pimpish, perhaps? |

I'm thinking of doing my swingarm in semi gloss black powdercoat. When I get it done, I'll post some pics. I'm trying to black-out the whole bike. I guess we'll see... |
