Got the call from HD/Danbury that my S3T is done (rockerbox gaskets and oil change). I posted on ATC regarding the total cost of $582 and the general consensus is that it is a bit steep. I figured I'd ask here as well. What do you think? Danbury has always been good for parts, service and generally very supportive of Buells, so I am willing to give them the benfit of the doubt, but like anybody else I don't enjoy being screwed. I am not jumping to conclusions. I will pick the bike up Saturday and talk to the service guys. |

Service is 90 hr out here and the parts should have been less than 100,so 482 divided by 90= about 5 1/2 hours to change the oil and a couple gaskets--yeah, a bit steep. |

Well I picked it up. Let them know that the price was a bit steep. They said 3 hours for gaskets (by the book according to them), and they charged 1+ hour for oil/primary change. So 4 hours at $100 per, plus parts and tax. It adds up, but it is still too expensive in my opinion. I'll do this sh!t myself from now on. |

$100/hr.?! Time to find an independant shop. Nobody deserves that kind of hourly money unless they are getting you out of jail. (Message edited by naustin on June 14, 2007) |
