Wasn't totally sure where to post this, but the KV seems as valid as anywhere else... A general question about sportbike exhausts- Our Buells are -largely- manufactured to be torque monsters... as are cruisers... which I'm sure lends to the convenience of sharing motor technology... however, why, unlike cruisers, are sportbikes not fitted with exhausts that emit the same throaty, full sounds that many cruiser (metric and home-grown) pipes do? If baggers, choppers and low-profile cruisers can push big torque figures and have beautiful sounds blowing out the back, straight from the factory, why are sportbikes so.......... muted? Especially when nearly every sportbike pipe in the aftermarket (after HP gain claims) promotes their product by mentioning a full/robust/meaty/throaty sound? | ||

Most sportbikes other then Aprilias and Ducatis have 4 cylinder motors hence they sound like bumblebees when they have low restriction exhausts. And Sportbikes with no mufflers are anything but muted! They're much more obnoxious then Harleys and Buells with no low or no restriction mufflers. KK |
