wolf,
if you can do it the monster is a once in a lifetime ride, do it. keep in mind you can always put a blower on the 5.0 or 4.6(they run about 175 with the blown cobra motor if i remember correctly). monster miata inc. ran one of their cars in the nevada state classic and i think it averaged 164mph over the 90 mile street course(still have the article somewhere). rode in one back when i lived in texas, it was truly wild.

the blower makes the car more fun and feel more "modern". it's not fast like an evo or subie, just real torquey. when first set up the car used to run dead even with my buddies stock gt mustang(95 i think) from a standstill. there are some fantastic kits out there now that make mine seam really weak. the basic car deals with the power just fine(mine has been blown since 98), the original car was designed with hot rodding in mind and the drivetrain was expected to retain reliability up to about 200hp. if your pushing more than that in a 2100 pound car your into some serious power to weight. have fun with it the car really comes alive when you pump it up a little.

"I've been bitten by the Wolf, but, wasn't caught with my pants down."

I got bit by the Wolf... but I did get caught with my pants down.

It took me over an hour to bulldog my bike back up to the road, one inch at a time. Not one person drove by the hour and half I was stuck (it was a Monday). Then I had a terrible 65 mile ride back to Larryville with no clutch and shift lever and no tail lights. Thankfully, the cop who stopped me for speeding and riding with no tail lights took pity on me.

The Wolf bit me in the ass pretty good that day.

I kind of just rode off the road, down the hill onto a fire road, after I got the seat out of my ass, I pushed, pulled, rode the bike back up to the road. Nothing broke, but was muddy as hell.
I know what you mean about inch by inch.
Stealth and I had to get SMHD&Buell's yellow loaner bike back up a hill on 60. I had just had surgery on my arm two weeks before, so I wasn't much help, but I kept it from sliding all the way back down.
That bike ended up being Black_sunshine's.

Dumping a shop bike at MBI = not a great way to start the day!
The memory of Glitch and I wrestling the bike up a hill like the one pictured above and getting Black_Sunshine a deal on a bike...priceless!

LIsten up all you MBIV participants:

I just got off the phone with Clown (Cameron, GM at SMHD/Buell). He just spoke with Erik Buell, HD's VP and Buell's VP...I forgot their names. HE asked them if they were coming and that MBIV will be bigger than Homecoming. They are going to try their best and they have seen the MBIV thread and can't believe its size.

SMHD/Buells owner has a helicopter and has offered to give them a ride. I guess we will see if they come or not. Keep your fingers crossed.

Prolly not, folks have a tendency to ride beyond their normal limits and get funny names like "ditch digger".

A petition won't change his schedule to favor ours. Trust me, he knows how much we'd like for him to join us, he's seen this thread. Let's all just hope he can make it, that Flick can make it, and Court can make it. If those three show it'll be a time to remember!

I have begged Erik for 2 days about coming to the event. With the announcement of new bikes coming, his plate is just too full. He said he would like to, but his schedule will just not allow it to happen. Jon Flickinger is trying his best to make it. He really wants to hang out with everyone. I will keep you posted as things progress. I am really looking forward to this event. The 3%er's have really helped me turn this into a couple of folks riding together into one of the biggest Buell gatherings in the country.

Just got my vacation set for MB4, hope to ride the Uly there and camp at TWO!
Questions, does the TWO inn sell food (lunch, supper) to the public or just people who are staying at the Inn.
My main need will be a few cups of coffee in the morning :o)

Please don't forget to sign in so we have a better idea of just how big this thing is getting.
So far I'm counting 50+!
one of the biggest Buell gatherings in the country. Indeed!

I meant the link in this thread, just in case some don't scroll all the way down in the Storm Fronts section. I never go past 3%er's or C3's normally.

Yea, I re-read your post and deleted mine! Not enough coffee yet.....The count is really coming along! I'm hoping to be at TWO by mid-afternoon on Friday. With a 42 gallon tank I won't have to make a gas stop!!

I've been thinking of heading up on Thursday to ride the usual 3% routes and check road conditions.
That sounds like a good enough excuse to get in an extra day of riding doesn't it?

Then you would complain about your gas mileage! Since I'm traveling solo, I can also pack lots of beer, food and extra gear!

Glitch - you may have to clear that extra day of riding with MrsG! Valentine's Day is before March Badness.....sparklies are always good!
